Default Service Active Handling & wheel lockup

Leaving my driveway today I got this message and the right front wheel locked up. Put it into reverse, same thing. Then forward again, same thing. Went to Competitive Driving Mode - same thing.
Turned ignition off, then back on.
Problem went away.
It's a 2005 with 29K miles. Original owner.
Help - any advice?

Sounds like the Traction control-antilock break module is going. I had to replace mine back in October. BTW I had about 28800 miles. It's not cheap.

It could also be a connection to or a wheel speed sensor failing.

Did you have the recall performed on the swps

Not necessarily...... GM bought back my 2008 for this issue, because I would be going down the road, and have an intermittant wheel lockup issue.

They replaced virtually every module on my vette TWICE (in the shop over 20 times in less than a year) and all that was left was rewiring the car, so they bought it back without me having to pursue the lemon law.

Your's is out of warranty, but this is serious, read up on this thread for more into. It's a "sticky" in the C6 Tech section http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...er-action.html

Default UPDATE - after service

In the shop last Friday:

- No Codes Stored - Current or History
- Recall for SWPS done previously.
- Tech's notes: "Harness is pulled too tight, give slack, and greased connectors" (he also checked all ground points)

30 miles since, and no problems.....we'll see.......

Default Service Active Handling & wheel lockup

The 2005 has a problem that should have been fixed by now. There was a Recall for a wire that 'Floats' above the Steering Column. That wire is part of the 'Active Handling'. It can rub against the column, causing a short. Have your Dealer check that out, BEFORE you have what happened to me. I had it fixed too late, then a few weeks later, all 4 of my brakes locked up, gong around 50 mph, 4 TIMES!!! Warped all 4 rotors and destroyed the pad. Cost over 2k, AND I was still under Warranty, but Chevy said it was NOT caused by the shorting of that wire, and refused to pay for it. SO you had better hurry and have that checked....
