[HOU]TWS trip and Surprise B'day Party- long
Nikki and I had, as usual, an absolutely splendid time meeting up with you guys and Linda, Sat. a.m.
Just imagine, 12-13 C5 Vettes in a continuous, weaving, caterpillar-like motion, winding down the hiway thru many lesser, much slower, vehicles being driven like the bingo crowd in Broward County, FL. At the front of this mega-horsepower snake-like creature, pushing slower cars onward and over, out of the way, was the sighty MAXN8R , whipping his steed like a pony express rider, hell bent for leather while intimidating all who would dare impede it's progress. Each member, exchanging positions with the 'sighty MAXN8R' as his steed drew weary, continued to slice the way to the end of this sojourn at the mecca of horsepower, Texas World Speedway. There, where participants, most of foreign breeding, lay it all out on the line, not for riches, but for each man’s deepest desires, ‘glory’ and the recognition of his peers. And behold a pale horse, oops, getting late here,… And behold this continuum of flesh, steel and fiberglass arrives, perhaps hot and a bit dusty, but rest assured fellow Corvette lovers, NEVER undaunted.
To the whole group, many thanks for the surprise birthday party; it was my first. :yesnod:
Corey (sighty MAXN8R), Jim, Matt, Ken & Linda, Rick and Justin – thank you for the generous gift, you really shouldn’t have done that – NOT!!!! ;)
Ya'll are truly a fine group of people and I feel honored you are my friends.

Stevie, Nikki has been working for WEEKS and kept it all secret from you. She talked with a bunch of us....wish I had been there. I was in San Francisco for the weekend and couldn't come. Happy Birthday Man! You have a great lady who loves you. The rest of us....well we at least put up with you. :D Tired steed indeed. Corey just let you guys pass because he felt sorry for you. Nothing more, nothing less. :D

Steve, you are so very welcome. HAPPY B-DAY. We all had fun on the cruise to TWS. Its nice to see 13 C-5's comming down the highway through traffic. We made alot of heads turn, even the cows down the "dirt road".
Maybe we can do that again, even if its just for a cruise around town or something.
Had a blast seeing all of you and meeting the a few of you for the first time.
Till next time.............

Great story Steve! Your welcome, it was our pleasure! The thanks should really go to Nikki though. We wouldn't have even known it was your Birthday without her.
As far as leading and being passed: It was a little of both scenarios. I felt sorry for ya'll and I like rocketing past ya'll again! There is a Jeep Liberty out there somewhere that is sorry he ever saw us! :smash:

Re: [HOU]TWS trip and Surprise B'day Party- long (SAXN8R)
Don't forget the (2) elderly couples in the silver Chrysler LeBaron with the 'rich Corinthian leather' that are probably still trying to figure out what the yellow blur that blew by them was. The blur of course being you (Corey), Rick and Jim.
Yes, I know, no one passes 'the SAXN8R' unless he allows it, especially me. My existential prose and similes were waning at that late/early?? hour and besides, it ("weary steed")had a ring to it - at the time. :p: :D

Steve, had a great time, glad we could make it worth while. Also glad someone else is my age, even if only for a short time.
Yes, Corey only lets us pass him for the thrill of re-passing us. I'm absolutely sure of that :jester
