talked to a tech at Holley and he said there are NO 58mm TBs for the L98...only for the LT1.......what throttle body are you using on your build ups?

I run a BBK 52mm TB but recommend a AS&M unit as it is much better quality.

You have been misinformed; BBK and AS&M (among others) make a 58mm TB for the L98.

well what i think he meant was that Holley does not make one for the L98
any others?
how hard would it be to put a LT1 TB on an L98?

The LT1 TB uses different technology from the L98 TB; so it's not a plug-in swap.

interesting....the guy at holley only told me that the TB would not be compatible due to throttle linkages......think the plugs for the idle control and such would be different?

Chris, IMO, stick with an aftermarket TB that is designed for the L98. AZ&M has probably the best TB available. I'll be utilizing their billet 54mm unit. They are local so if there are any issues... they can be easily handled without waiting on shipping time. FYI, the polished SuperRam will be going on soon... I think its time to get together... time for our quarterly Hooter's gathering anyway :D

Purchased my Accel Throttle Body from Summit back in Feb, '93.
P/N: ACC-74190. Cost: $373.39
Described as a 1000 CFM TB, which translates as a 58mm TB.

Still running it. No problems. I do clean it once a year.
I'm not sure if these are still available, but it sure seems to perform for me.

hey thanks....i was just turned on to the BBK 1536 58mm (for 85-88 305/350 chevy pontiac) and it looks reasonably priced and looks like it should do the trick, not just got to see if anyone has it cheaper than summit for $309! :D

Careful with the BBK, I have heard horror stories about them. I haven't had an experience myself, but others have and maybe they'll chime in.
