Default Z06 Rear Brake Ducts

Thinking about adding Z06 Rear Brake Ducts?

Joe (SPDY C5) has put together a Power Point Presentation of the steps required :) :)

Thanks JOE

Good show. I'm sure many of the forum members thinking about doing this mod would love to have the template shown. Perhaps the owner would be willing to share with others?

That's the template I was looking for. This slideshow was emailed to me awhile back but I could not remember who gave it to me so I did not know who to ask for the template. Now, does someone have a copy of it?? Thanks

Joe,
Any "Dimensions" for positioning the template before cutting.
Us engineering types like the see specs. & fact sheets........
A template and location would be sweet.

Joe (SPDY C5) did mine. They look factory. I paid less than $160 for the OEM ducts from Ken Fichtner so this is a great $160 MOD. Once you get over drilling the first hole you can breath again. Joe's template is so precise that when I cut out one of the ducts I cut just to the inside of the felt pen outline. The ducts wouldn't fit. After re-cutting right on the line they fit albeit TIGHT.

Thanks Joe.

I just completed this mod on my '98 coupe and I have the template. It is referenced to several body features. I will send a copy to anyone that sends me $15 and that includes shipping... I have to thank my friend Doug (RennfahrerX) for taking the pattern off his '01 Z06. He will get a cut on any templates that I send out...

I have been selling these template's and/or kit's for the past 8 months and so far it's a go. It is such an easy install with a template and even easier with a kit. I have been selling the template alone for $10 shipped, or a template kit (include's - Template, Mounting hardware, Bit's, Full Instructions) for $40 shipped... E-Mail me for more info...

Hi Tom,
Did you call Ken or just requested using "part form" from them???
I don't see he lists that part on his website.
I may be wrong. Could you please give me his website.
Thanks

Just pulled this of Bob's most recent newsletter and all I did was call to place the order. Go to Ken's Newsletter's and scroll till you find Bob's Newsletter.

Z06 LH Rear Brake Scoop $ 79.33 $ 59.50 1 $ 59.50
Z06 RH Rear Brake Scoop $ 79.33 $ 59.50 1 $ 59.50
Z06 LH Rear Brake Scoop Duct $ 22.67 $ 17.00 1 $ 17.00
Z06 RH Rear Brake Scoop Duct $ 22.67 $ 17.00 1 $ 17.00

So right now you'll pay $59.50 X 2 = 119.00 for the Scoop's
and $17 X 2 = $34 for the Ducts

Total $153 plus shipping which came to about $7. Bob even saved me a few bucks on shipping by asking if he could send to a business rather than my home. There is a lower business rate.

You can't beat the cost. This is a functional mod and looks cool.

Are the Z06 rear brake ducts meant to be black or are they designed to be painted?

I've seen someone with yellow racing Vette painted it to body color; however, the pix is kindda small so I am not sure it look good in color matched or black.
You may wanna bring up that topic asking for people with color matched Z06 rear brake ducts.

I would add them if painting was practical. But I was talking to a friend one day who has a Z06 and he showed me why I should not paint them. His has several rock "dings" in the plastic. They stick out far enough that they pick up gravel coming off the front tires apparently. When I saw his ducts, I was convinced not to do it.
