Top Speed of a 1996
I just purchased a 1996 vette, LT 1, automatic. I wanted to know what the top speed and other times for the car are subposed to be.

Re: Top Speed of a 1996 (Audie)
If it is a 3.07 car,probably 163-165,2.59 car-155-160.With the LT1 motor
both will pull 4th nicely.Trust me I know.

2.59's currently.... but they're great for cruising at 100mph at 2500rpm (and a ridiculously nice 18-20mpg).
I've pulled 162mph on the speedo with a lack of running room, but I don't think it'd pull many more mph without some serious distance.

With a 3.07, one would think top end would be a bit slower than
a 2.89.
a 2.89.

Just for comparision sake... Had an 88 Coupe with 2.59 and auto...
2000 rpm = 83 mph... 3900 rpm = 150 mph... and that was all the faster it would go... :-)
