Default The "In Spec" stock guide wear registry

Since we keep seeing threads pop up now with more and more people inspecting their guides I think it would be a good idea to get a grasp of how many are coming back with in spec guides and from which years.

If you have inspected your guides and they have come back in spec please reply with the year of your Z06 and the miles at inspection. You can also attach a spec sheet of the measurements if you have one and cite who did the inspection. Hopefully we can use this data to get a better idea of the percentage of problems out there.

This is not a thread to debate the valve drop issues, or how to fix it. This is not a thread for cars who have found guide wear. This is not a thread for drama. Please try to keep it as clean as possible and on topic.

This is for Z06's without any head work done. Mods other than head work are fine.

Ahhh...

My stock heads after 88K miles had EVERY exhaust guide within spec. A few intakes were getting close though.

06 with 9800 miles. All exhausts well within in spec. Worst measurement was #3 intake just under spec (0.0035) using Richie Rich's correlation factor ( wiggle measurement/2 - 0.0005). Tests were done by Rick (RKT56) a forum supporter..

Intake, Headers , Exhaust, Tune..

2006 Z06
Guides all in spec - measured at 17,000 miles by WCCH prior to work done.

Katech stage 1 done after just a couple thousand miles, so its been 500+ rhwp cammed since almost new.

Nearly 90 drag passes, 30+ high speed runs, daily driver on factory fill mobil 1. On the limiter all the time, daily driven with temps in the 30s here at times in the north at the end of season.

Will there be any attempt to tease out why these cars didn't have worn guides vs others with worn guides? Such as oil used? Racing habits? Fuel types used (91 vs 93)? Geographic location (i.e. cold vs. warm climates or fuel availability)?

I would hope we aim for constructive data here, and use this opportunity to potentially identify cars that might be at risk for valve guide wear in the future. Perhaps if we are lucky, it might be possible to identify a common thread between cars with guide wear and those without.

Great idea and I agree this should be done, but why is vette@71 on the list if he did have one out of spec?
