Default Allen Exhaust Chambered Tips - w/ Pics

Hi All,

Last week I took advantage of the Allen Exhaust eBay offering for a set of Chambered Muffler Eliminators and Slash-cut Oval Tips.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151150756621...84.m1497.l2649

I had them installed, today, replacing a set of generic mufflers that had been attached with 4" extensions and muffler clamps by the PO. I left the clamps on the rear-most extensions (incase the Allens were too loud) and had the rest welded in place.

I LOVE THEM!! My '96 LT1 has a 2-into-1-into-2 muffler amidships so the chambered extensions create a perfect blend of old-school growl (HOWL at high RPM) without being obnoxiously loud. Resonance is no worse than the old mufflers which never annoyed me.

Because I had them welded (by "Paul" at R&L Muffler in Clearwater, FL - Excellent work... he was more **** than I was about getting them straight!) I can't attest to the viability of Allen's hardware. However, the chambered pipes and exhaust tips are superb!

It looks great. I was thinking about making something similar to this using Powerstick mufflers. I'd like to hear how this sounds as well.

Default With SOUND...!

My wife assisted with the video and because she was standing between the Corvette and her TrailBlazer the sound is bouncing back and forth a little. But... you'll get the idea.

No more or less than the mufflers I removed. Slightly louder but I enjoy the growl.

These were my old mufflers:

Install was $60.00... incredible value for the job R&L's "Paul" did.

The eBay site allows for "MAKE OFFER." I made an offer and paid less than the $210.00 advertised price.

OK... I guess my wife changed something on her YouTube account. I uploaded the video to my YouTube account and changed the link, above.

Here it is, again...

I,ve spent a lot of hours reworking lights and electrical wiring in Allens shop and can attest to
their quality and workmanship. I just sold my 84 because of having to move but will get another at my new location and have already told Mike I will be getting a new set of Chambered on my next one..I think his are the best for the money.

Sorry to revive. I received mine today. Did you drill a hole in the tips for condensation?
