Default HPtuners, CAGS shift light question

Years ago I had this functioning properly and had it configured to illuminate a a given RPM. It seems to no longer work on the version of HPT I just downloaded (2.24). Furthermore If I go VCM controls and command the shift light on I get nothing. MIL and other functions work in the VCM controls window so I'm assuming one of two things is going on.

1. This function has been removed
2. My C.A.G.S light no longer works.

If #2 I don't see any way to actually test this light as when the ignition is turned on and the dash lights are illuminated the 1 to 4 shift C.A.G.S. light does not illuminate by default.

Any input/help is appreciated.

Dave

I sat mine to come on at 5800 RPM a few weeks ago, it would Illuminate when I revved it past 5800 RPM, but I haven"t noticed if it comes on anymore.

I don't think that'd make any difference unless you've upgrade to newer HPT and then flashed the tune. Any chance you could hook up your scanner and use VCM controls to command shift light on to see if that light illuminates?

I do not have an answer, but I would post on their forum that their support staff monitors

EDIT, I have it on the HPT forum but no replies as of yet. It seems I rarely get replies there.

Tech 2 can test the light. Find someone that has one and verify your light is working.

There has to be another way especially w/ HPT to command this light. Nobody I know has a tech2 and I'm not going to pay the dealer to do this. So I guess I need HP tuners people to reply to me so I can see if this even works anymore.

I'd test mine out with 2.24 for you, but my trans is out right now.

Thanks for the offer. No reply from hpt yet either. Anyone have 2.24 who could go into their scanner and command shift light in vcm controls

thanks Dave

I don't understand what you're asking. When I clicked "Shift Light" to ON the light for 1 -> 4 light came on.

When you open your HPT scanner and go into VMC controls and click Shift light ON. Does the CAGS (1 to 4 shift) light illuminate on the dash? What shift light came on for you? The shift light on the HUD? Sorry for last message my phone corrected what I was typing.

Ahh thanks. My dash light must be out. Do you have your 1-4 shift light configured? If not, perhaps my config isn't allowing the light to illuminate when shift light is commanded on.

I'll try to play w/ the tune to see if that affects the shift light on VCM control command.

It shouldn't since it will force anything to enable/disable, turn on/off using the VCM controls even if it's turned off in the tune. Atleast that's how it works for me. v

I just tested again and I get no light. I must have a dead bulb.
