Default Dash Glare

Anyone have any ideas on helping the dash glare on the new C7. I know there have been some threads about it but have not heard of any remedies. I love my car but the dash glare is very annoying. I checked to see if anyone is making a dash cover which would help but cannot find any yet. Probably soon. Hoping someone has found something that will help. Thanks.

Yup, and why I spent a while trying out diff protectants that reduced the dash gloss. A great one is "Poorboy's Natural Look" from autogeek.net.

Curious what interior colors and what trim levels that both the OP and Glen e have. Both of these affect what the dash actually is.

3LT Black Interior.

For me the glare is really bad to the point of making it hard to focus on the road.

I also have the 3LT black interior and have NO glare problem at all! Can't imagine it happening off the leather unless someone wiped some type of liquid on it for what I don't know!

Did you put armor-all on it? Or some other equivalent type of product?

2lt black....they all are...in that trim. But you throw some of the auto parts store dash products at it and you get huge reflections. PB is just clean looking...been using it for years.

Wrote it up here:

First....no types of products have been put on the dash or windshield so I know that's not the problem.

Maybe I should clarify what I mean by glare. It the reflection of the shape of the dash and the white stitching in the window I'm talking about that is bothering me. It may just be something some people notice more than others. Unfortunately I notice it badly when I'm driving.

Hmmm. 2lt black here in sunny (not so today) so cal and I've not experienced this issue. Maybe it's the fact that I have my windows tinted? Or maybe I just haven't driven it with the sun in just the right spot to experience this. Are you guys driving into the sun when this happens?

Sorry, my discussion above is not using products that make it worse. As it comes from BG, the design and materials do not present a huge problem relative to some other cars.

In my C6, I got rid of dash glare by buying an inexpensive dash cover. They aren't sexy, but they 100% fix the problem if you're having one. Oops - just noted you mentioned dash covers aren't out yet for C7. Go to a fabric shoppe, and make your own?!

Dash glare? I have been very impressed that GM used a matte leather on the dash. I have not seen the first hint of glare here in sunny Florida. Don't use the crap cleaners and protectants that leave a shiny unnatural surface.

It's not light glare. It's the reflection of the dash in the window that is present. It is there just maybe not everyone notices it.

Light is refracted when hitting a flat surface producing the glare. I believe it has to do with the angle that the driver is at when looking into the dash. It may have a glare all the time for a 5'9 person and not for a 5'11 or 6 feet person.
Question: what are your two's height. If they are in the same range, that may be the problem.

Can't wait to hear how tall the other person is. That would be interesting if you two were close in height.
