Default Sluggish Order

Hi, have posted on this subject a couple times, perhaps some of you who are knowledgeable about the order process can chime in.

Chevy tracking site says that the order has been placed, hasn’t moved in 7 weeks. Called Chevy, I think a notch above the Cust Svc level.

I was told that the order has been “accepted for production”. Does anyone have a realistic idea of when it might roll out of the production line? It’s a “generic” 2LT with A6 and few other options. Thanks, Don

Hasn't it been mentioned you canNOT trust the website nor the "Chat" people to be accurate?

Anyway, "accepted for production" is status code 3000 so you have a few weeks to go before it will probably be built. But even then, I don't think it can be stated for certain.

Best thing to do is contact the Cust Serv folks in the sticky above or call (nag ) your dealer.

Nag your dealer! A lot depends on his/her allocation for C7's.

Status codes and corresponding Chevy Order Tracker Status (as best as I have been able to determine):

Event Status Code
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted By GM
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited (If Necessary)
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged")
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to be Sequenced
3300 Order Scheduled for Production
3400 Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed
4D00 On Hold At Plant
4P00 Hand Off To Carrier
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle at Dealer
6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer
9000 Order Cancelled

Chevy Tracker Status
Order Placed
Queued for Production
Production Complete

At the Dealership

Once your order is assigned to an allocation by your dealer, you will very quickly move from 1100 to 3000.

Thanks, that’s a more expansive listing than I’ve seen so far. As I said, the tracking site and CS said it has been at 1100 for 7 weeks but maybe the site is incorrect and it’s moving. I really hope so. Don

W88fixer, contact your dealer and have them give you the event status code for your order. Your dealer is the best source.

I see a lot of "Chevy picked up my order" but you are still at 1100. I think what the chev sources and your dealer do is confuse the situation by saying that. They may mean that the dealer system sees your order, but this does not mean that chevy is going to produce the car. IT IS NOT ACCEPTED BY CHEV. The only thing that matters is the code for real data..and at 1100, you have done nothing but get a nice nod from the dealership....

Just got off the phone with Chevy. The phone rep called Bowling Green. The car is at 3000 now, no word on when it will move past there. Said that there are no constraints on the car. But...that’s pleasing progress. Maybe get it by mid Feb??? I can hope I guess. Don

Look at the codes listed for GM in this thread.

Not one uses order picked up as a description.

Until your order is at 2000 GM has not accepted your order from the dealer.

Listen to what Glen E says. I was in the same boat as you..stuck at Order Code 1100 for over 8 weeks. Finally, Chev. Customer Service sent me an E-mail confirming that the dealer that took my $5,000 deposit DID NOT have any "allocation" associated with my GM Work Bench Order number. You need to cancel your order with that dealer, get a refund of your deposit, and then, go with one of the forum dealers listed here, and, place your deposit with one of them for a C7 they either have "in stock", or, "built and in transit". Keep in mind, that even the Big Dogs, like Kerbeck, have received their FINAL allocations for the 2014 year model. When all those "allocations" are spoken for, game over, as regards your prospect of purchasing a 2014 C7 Corvette. The longer you sit on the fence, the less chances you are going to have to purchase the 2014 C7 you want. Good Luck Op. Been there, done that.

FYI, today I saw on the Chevrolet track your order site I was Queued for Production. Both my dealer and the Cust Svc folks on the forum say I'm at 2500 Preferenced

So should that code be formatted blue in the sticky?

Thanks

No .. the 2000 series all mean, basically that GM has accepted the order. The car WILL get built. And soon. Once you get to the 3000 series, production is imminent ..

A6? Wouldn't that be a 2014? I have the A8......
Had only good experiences with Chevrolet Customer Service/Chat (Chevrolet.com) agents. They knew much more about my order status than my dealership ever did.

Wow, was this resurrected from the dead file!!! The dealer failed to get my order even accepted by Chevy after 4 mo despite being told he had allocations. Cancelled the order and went with a much bigger dealer who got it in about 7-8 weeks.

Turns out this mess had an upside. Had the first dealer delivered, I wouldn’t have been able to use a GM Employee’s discount gotten via by father in law’s work with GM. That saved me $7200. The employee’s discount was made available toward the end of my time with the first dealer.

Have had the car for 5 mo and it has been great, love the car and it is a 2014 A6. Don

That statement is pretty interesting. when I have communicated with the Customer Service Reps here on the forum, they have told me they have no way to check the status or number of any dealers' allocations.

At what point in this sequence is a VIN assigned ... and the dealer able to get the VIN?

Hey Firehawk,

Your VIN gets assigned as soon as your order has reached 3800- Produced. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, we are more than happy to help.

Default Offended

Ken,

I enjoyed your insight on the production cycle, but I must be honest with you. I take offense to your pictorial of the President of the United States. After serving in the military for 30 years and following the orders of Presidents from both major parties, I swore to defend the Constitution and incumbent office holder. Simply, I had to respect the office even if I didn't respect the person in office. I think you do this website a disservice by this type of demonstation and I respectfully request that you refrain from this political statement.

Thanks for reading.
