If you carry a concealed weapon in your corvette, I found a great way to secure it.
Our vettes are pretty limited in terms of storage space.
Recently I checked into having a compartment built to hide a concealed weapon, it was cool, it opened from the key fob or a phone app, with a little electric motor, the downside was the price was $3.000. The guys works on lots of vettes but thats too much $$$$
I ordered a small safe, 10"L. x 7"W. X 2 1/2"D. $350, i wrapped it in SCOTCHPRINT Personalized Vehicle Graphics - On Demand Carbon FiberTextured material. The exact same material my 2008 C6, hood, targa top, halo, mirrors and spoiler are wrapped with. The material was left over from the vette wrap day.
The beauty of this safe is it opens with your finger or thumbprint !!!!
You program it, like any login procedure to identify the finger, yours, your wife, etc. It has batteries inside but if they fail, there is a transformer that plugs in thru a small hole in the case and a key lock,(the depressed area below the fingerprint reader is where the key lock is).
There are four holes visible when you open it and that is how you secure it to the interior, I mounted mine behind the passenger seat, any flat surface will do.
. It holds my Glock 29, a spare clip, my concealed weapon permit, my wallet and phone,(the Glock is a subcompact so theres lots of room).
I have always searched for a better place to put my gun when Im going into the post office, grocery store, BANK, etc.
If carrying a handgun is legal where you live, great way to secure it in your vette.

I use something similar behind the drivers seat. It's secured with a cable to the seat frame and it can be removed with the cover open to take along into a hotel room while traveling.

There are a few on the MidwayUSA site. I didn't see one with a fingerprint reader though. One style has a key lock and another style has a push-button lock. I have one in each car, and as Steve-O mentioned they are handy for securing all sorts of things.

Behind either seat? Do you guys have a plan on how you're going to access your gun if needed?

I don't know what the big deal is about carrying in your Vette. I keep my .380 just laying in the center console with 3 spare mags. If I need it its right there to grab and no one can see it otherwise. Why would you possibly want to secure it away so you can't get to it in a hurry if you have to?

using an inside the pant holster works well underneath the steering wheel and clipping it on. That way if you get car jacked, its a quicker draw where you can fire through the door if necessary to disable the attacker..............just a thought.............

I love my Glock 29. It is one bad MF'er. I think it packs more punch than my Colt .357.
But if I'm not carrying it on me, I usually have it accessible on the passenger seat.

you can live in the safest community and how ive stressed to my wife over and over again; sometimes the crime and sh!theads come looking for you. Im looking forward to crime dropping here in Illinois, just dont like the fact that everyone I stop might have a pistol on them with a deathwish...........
