Default Power window

The other day the power window on the left side (passenger window in aussie land for a 1988 C4) stopped.

Pulled the side panel of the door and saw that the teeth was working but wasn't connected to the rest.

There is a small hole that obviously had an insert (could be a very small bolt and nut) which had disappeared.

Can anyone tell me what I need to buy to connect the thing... I will have to take of my drivers side door panel and I am hoping someone can help me before I do that to see what I have to get to fix it.

I'm not following exactly what you're after but if you do a google image search for "1988 corvette window regulator" or search on eBay you should find pics. Maybe add arrows or circles to the pictures you find and post them?

BTW the window regulator is the same for model years 88-96.

Maybe this right hand regulator image can help.

It is strange... the window regulator gear turns and I noticed that it had a hole that lined up with another hole on the contraption... it appears something like a small nut and bolt should be there to allow the window to attach to the gear so it would go up and down... I can see an impression that there was a washer there at some stage. The gear just turns and nothing happens... I can pull the window up and down and it is obviously not attached to the gear at all. Everything runs well, the motor and the gear but no movement of the window at all unless I pull it up or down.

Thanks for the info and pic...

I fixed it... it is a small nut and bolt that holds the gear to the window support... The small bolt had snapped off... I found it using a long magnetic thing at the bottom of the door.

Got a new bolt and nut and it is as good as new now.

Thanks again for your info.

When all is lost, go fishin' Mate! Welcome to our family. Did a C4 change hands in Adelaide? There is another member from there.

Either you are a professional photographer or that is a great looking car... Maybe a little bit of both but very cool pictures.

No, not a professional photographer... far from it... the car is as good as it looks... goes great too... everywhere we go people come up and look at the car... even shout out at traffic lights and where-ever we stop.
