Sounds like a lot, but Kerbeck sells about 5% of the Vettes produced each year, so 1277 may not even be enough. In 2015, GM hopes to sell 30,000 so their allocation will most likely be in the 1500 range.

Is this the total allocation for 2014's or just phase two allocations? I believe they received 507 in phase one plus some "extras".

That's the total for phase 1 and Phase 2.

I'd like to order my C7 Z51 option convertible though a volume dealer but so far, no one I reached out to has contacted me. I have one order in at a local dealer but his allocation is a small one so can someone at a volume dealer do an order for a Z51 option convertible? I can provide all the order options based on the local dealer's workbench copy with one addition to it which is the TTV option. Is there a volume dealer that is reading this post able to get me in their own order line once the Z51 constraint is lifted or maybe they already have an open slot to put this order in?

What makes you think a volume dealer will get your already ordered car sooner? Another thing, there is an unwritten code not to mess with each other's business. I sell airplanes and would never order over another dealer's order, knowingly. Think about legal side!

Is there a phase 3 to come later or does phase 1 + phase 2 mean the total allocation for the model year?

It never hurts to ask if something of this nature is possible as nothing ventured is nothing gained. I had two dealers put in an order for my present C7 and both knew of that fact when I placed the orders. Both said that it wasn't a problem to them if two separate build orders were submitted and they both agreed to refund my deposit if one dealer sold me the car sooner than the other. The car came in sooner at one dealer so I bought it there and the other dealer refunded my deposit the same day that I asked for it back. I am not aware of any legal constraints either and I surmise that one or both dealers would have raised this when I did the orders?

I agree.. Kinda of a D*ck move to order from 2 dealers. Even with them knowing. I'm sure theres no legal issues with it, its more a gentlemans rule. SMH

I've heard of other **** buyers doing the same thing and I, like most of the rest of the buying public, are gentlemen too. As a buyer, we should be aware of our buying opportunities and if both dealers were ok with the approach, then I assume that they were not going to deal with **** buyers either. Who comes first, the buyer or the seller? This is not yet a social economics society where everyone is treated in the same way so here is how my coupe buying story ended.....I ended up being happy after buying my TR Z51 C7 coupe, one dealer ended up happy selling it to me and taking my two trades in for it and making a lot of $ off of the ENTIRE deal while the other dealer sold the car the same day it came on his lot (and yes another happy buyer and seller). So...the theme here is what according to your **** presumptions? Maybe the cold weather is affecting your thought processes? I waited all summer to get my car and I didn't want to put my buying eggs in one basket knowing the super excited interests in buying the new C7. I see no losers in this outcome, do you?

The losers are GM dealers that get little or no allocation & turn customers away. Big interweb dealers that sell country wide are loaded with cars & pushing $2-3K discounts. Invoice pricing can't be far away!

That is one way of looking at it - the other way of looking at is the big dealers - the ones that sell at least 100 Corvettes per year - are the ones who have made Corvettes a viable vehicle for GM for those years that aren't intro years (1997-98, 2005, 2014), the only "small dealers" who got no allocation are the ones who couldn't manage to sell 2 or more Corvettes for the entire 2012 calendar year. A Corvette is not a Bugatti Veyron, so if a dealer can't manage to sell one every 4 months on average (which would be 3 and get them allocation), why should GM reward them with any allocation just so they can make a quick hefty profit selling 1 or 2, when long term it is the big dealers that will keep the Corvette selling in greater volume for GM. After all, GM makes the same money per car whether its sells it to a big or small volume dealer; but the more in total it sells, the more money it makes.
