Dealing Begins!!! Sooner than expected?
Just got an email from my local dealer informing me they just got their allotment for a 2014 convertible. Claims he is going to give me a good deal? We'll see! Going to stop by tomorrow. I already have a price in mind, this time year not in any hurry.

There are some on this forum that believe that a $5,000 markup, instead of a $10,000 markup is a great deal, and that a 5 month wait, instead of a 6 month wait to get the car is a great deal.
I bet you are able to negotiate $2,000-$3,000 off MSRP, at a minimum.

It must be a terrible burden for you, that someone might hold a belief that doesn't coincide with yours. I suppose you could either be tolerant and understanding, or you could ridicule them on a public forum.
I've heard it says a lot about the character of a person as to which they choose . . . . .

There is NOBODY that believes over sticker is a good idea..many of us were simply reporting THAT THE MAJORITY OF DEALERS ARE THERE. OR AT MSRP...ther are some that are leaving money on the table from a dealer point of view by going under sticker now.
That being said, the MSRP thing won't last long. There are too many cars being built to hold MSRP and the non z51 cars will soon go for understicker.
This is not my opinion of what I think should happen, it is merely a statement of the market condition as this point.

I walked in a dealership several years ago and told a salesman what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. He said, "we'll give you a great deal!" We proceeded to test drive a vehicle and then began the process or trying to work out the deal I wanted. The negotiations broke down quickly when his "great deal" offer was $500 below MSRP. I stood up, told him he had just insulted my intelligence, and walked out as he tried to tell me that was just a starting place and that he wanted me to talk to his sales manager. I told him I wasn't playing that game. Within a couple of hours, the sales manager called with an offer that met my initial criteria (which happened to be a price of dealer invoice). I told him he had already lost my business. Two days later I bought a similar vehicle from another dealership for $1000 under invoice.

Who cares what you pay. If you think it's a great deal then good for you. It's only money. If you really want something get it. True value of an article can only be placed by those who covet that item.

My prediction is that the good deal he presents will be at MSRP, which is a great deal for the dealership, but in the opinion of many, not a good deal for you.

The sooner the people that think that way all buy their C7s, the better the rest of us normal thinkers will be, as prices will come down.

Yet everyday, I read posts from people that can't seem to comprehend that C7's are not being sold for $5,000-$10,000 above MSRP, and keep posting that no C7's will be sold for under MSRP for the next two years.
Freaking unbelievable. Of course, I really doubt if many of those posters have the money to buy a new Corvette, and have never bought a new Corvette, and have no idea what the marketplace is for new Corvettes.
For the few that will buy a C7 for over MSRP, they will be screaming the loudest five years from now when their C7 is worth no more than the C7 that was purchased today for under MSRP and crying about the excessive deprecation of their Corvette.

This is a small dealer with whom I have purchased from in the past. Sounds like they have one convertible allocation. I have a nice low mileage C6. We will see. It is early in the C7 run I don't really expect much, YET!

I'm still on the fence about the color. Black top, black interior, for certain, "oh" but the body color. Premium colors are out, I have never paid extra for a color. I thought Night Race Blue however afraid I will get tired of it. Flame Red, wife doesn't like orange hue. Black, afraid it will always be dirty. Silver, already had a convertible that color. Cyber Gray, different hue as per Night Race Blue. Arctic White, I still have a white C4 convertible with black & black. Guess I'm still at Night Race Blue?
