My New StopTech BBK
Yep....been thinking about it for a couple of months now, and finally pulled the painful trigger on a Stop Tech BBK. My wife (that's right) has tracked our '04 Z since Oct 2012, and has destroyed several sets of pads and cracked several sets of NAPA rotors.....so it was time to upgrade.
I went with the 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rear calipers with 355mm two piece rotors front and rear. The kit came complete with 3 bottles of Motul 660 fluid, stainless braided brake lines, and Stop Tech Street Performance Pads. For the track, I got a set of Cobalt XR2 pads, front and rear. Install was a breeze. Also, I ordered everything from LG Motorsports. Everything fills the space nicely behind my Speedline 18x10.5 wheels........and the brake performance, all I can say is HOLY CRAP! This is what GM should have put on these cars from the factory.
Anyway..here are some photos...........
Freshly delivered....
Street wheels; 18x10.5 Speedlines.....
Track wheels; 18x10.5 Speedlines......
Wife out on track..pink numbers and all...lol
Thanks for looking

Yeah..simple unbolt the old, and bolt up the new....nothing to it.
Only extra step is you have to grind down the lip on the lower ball joint castings on the front to get a minimum of 3.5mm of clearance between the lower ball joint and the much thicker new front rotors. I was less than that, so I just ground the lip down with an angle grinder. Took maybe 3 mins on each front, and now have roughly 5.5mm of clearance.
Here is the install PDF from Stop Tech. It shows what I'm talking about and also the full step-by-step instructions.....

Well ****. That's easy enough. Definitely something to look forward to in the future. How much of an improvement over the stock system would you rate this as?

Thanks! No larger coolers yet.....only cooling issues I've had have been the high heat trans warning, but only during the peak of summer after about 15 mins into a session. A trans cooler is at the top of my list...hoping to get one before spring
