Mission Accomplished!!!! Here she is!!!!
Hello everyone.....
I have some great news. My search has finally come to an end and I just purchased a 1971 corvette. It has been a long journey indeed. My first inquiry I made on a 1971 corvette (i checked) was over 14 1/2 years ago. Since then I have gone through dozens of these cars to be met with dissapointment after dissapointment. In the meantime I purchased various other corvette model years and been completely happy with them. My heart has always been in for a 1971.
I have been met with kindness, support, great assistance, and unfortunately some bouts of hatred and resistance. For every one of the bad apples there were 10 of those that stuck it out with me. And for that I am thankful. There have been many behind the scenes people that assisted me over the years. I appreciate this and hope our paths cross someday.
Okay, this year has been quite interesting indeed. There have been a LOT more of these cars for sale then I have seen in past years. I had one close call earlier this year but that sale did not work out. I figured it would be years before I would ever see one I would buy. However, was I wrong. Months later I found my new ride. And I do think it was worth the wait indeed. I know it is the right car because it is totally connecting with me. I have seen pictures/video, had the car inspected and I knew it was the one. I knew it before it was even inspected. I just felt it. When I listened to the report I was sold. She had to be mine. I was considering traveling up to see it first but said, nah....let's just make it a surprise. You did what you can do and if I go up I know I would tell them I would take it. So I decided to just ship it and be done! I will not have this car for a couple of weeks so I am gonna be a nervous wreck worrying if she will get here okay. I hired a recommended shipper that many forum members have used and it will be shipped in an enclosed trailer. The suspense will kill me though.
With that said I now present you my new ride. It speaks for itself. and yes it came from the factory as Mille Miglia red and numbers matching car.
I thank you all for your help and I also do not harbor any ill feelings to my detractors except to maybe think about having a little faith in patience in those who are dedicated and want to find the perfect car for them. It took me years but I found it, finally. Some folks just need more time than others. Best regards!

My Eyes! That is a gorgeous Corvette. Congrats!
But I still won't believe it until we see a picture of you in it, with a big grin on your face, and some smoke coming off those back tires.
Keep us posted (as we know you will).

That's a nice looking car.
Just FYI - the car was delivered with vinyl interior and loop carpeting. The leather seats and woodgrain door panels/center console were added later.
The rear spring has been replaced with a mono-spring and looks like the rear sway bar has been removed altogether.

Hi BV,
It looks like a nice one!
Good Luck as you get to know it, and I hope it gives you a lot of pleasure from owning it and driving it.

Great looking car BB, 4-speed, deluxe interior right color combo. Love the look of the firestone Indy 500 tires on it. Best looking tires you can put on a C3 IMO. Congrats & enjoy the Rock Star attention you're soon to be getting!
