Default Experience with Vengeance Racing

Hello all I have been reading post on here for a while. I own a 06 Z06 with 16k. I want to take a proactive route to deal with these valve issues. I will be moving to Ft Benning Ga next year and decided on three options. First and foremost the C6 z06 is my dream car and I have worked hard to get it with 4 year tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.

1. Replace heads with veng pkg $3,100
2. Trade in for a ZR1 and pay 30k more
3. Wait until house purchase and do a full 1000 hp build.

I am the 2nd owner and the car has never had an issue. Bought it with 4k and drove from fl-ca and do cruises with it. I also have my first car a 780 hp 99 Trans am and a 2012 Altima (dd). I have no need to drive it or race it until issue is addressed. I have the funds to buy a ZR1 but Z06 has been my dream since 01. Wife says get the ZR1 or trade in on a escalade as she doesnt want another "race car"

One of the other forum members did a write up, and a follow up on his experience with Vengeance racing for his cylinder head work.

Might help you in deciding.

~$35-40k

Test drive a zr1. You may like it enough. The power and upgrades are nice.

If it was me, I would do the escalade because a happy wife is a good thing.

Thank you for the replys yall. Selling the Trans Am is out of the question. I would sell the Z before the TA goes. I read the post about veng racing and they seemed like the place I am looking for. I am wondering if C7 z's will make the ZR1 value drop a tad bit. Also mittens be safe over there I just came back from Ghazni. A 1000hp build would be some where around 30-40k correctly built. About the same amount invested in the Trans Am. I grew up on Trans Ams and only stepped up to the Z06 three years ago.

Escalade lol I see no purpose for one. We have a one year old son and I see no need for big gas guzzling SUV. A tahao with caddy emblems and interior. Now a 4 door CTS-V i can dig it!

Thanks for your service Vengeance is out my back door.
But if you have the money the Zr1 is nice I have a buddy who has a 63 split window, zr1, grandsport and a z06/z07 guess which car he loves the most the z06. He trade one for his wifes grandsport and had to have another z06.

Thank you for the support. The ZR1 is within reach and I have never driven one in fact they didnt even let me test drive the Z06 I guess because I look young. Maintenance is what worries me a little. I do all of my own work except tunning as you know we have access to lifts and shop tools in the military. Cost of ZR parts ie brakes (omg) is one that is making me say it will be cheaper to address these valve issues. My wife told me monday if you want the ZR1 lets go get it.

The brakes should be fine for a long time on the ZR1 as long as you're not tracking it.

But of all the options you list in your prior post, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The brakes on the zr1 are made to last a long long time. In fact for tracking they maybe more cost effective than the z06 rotors that will need to be replaced every 4-5 track days compared to every 100k miles on the zr1. Zr1 has no added maintenance really over a z06.

Hell, if you can buy a zr1 I would sell the z06 and get a c7, do intake/headers/tune and have a nice badass new car.

Since you were asking about experience with Vengeance Racing, I can give you input on that. What car you ultimately want, well that's up to you!
First experience was a dyno tune of my 05 Z51, which I had added bolt-ons. Quite satisfied, car did and still does run like a champ.

Most recent was the build on my 08 Z06. I did WCCH heads, cam, Pfadt headers, as well as reliability upgrades for tracking at Road Atlanta. They did a great job and car is a beast with a monster midrange, 547hp/520 tq.

Their specialty is LS motors. I think you would be well-pleased with their advice and service.

Do the heads, enjoy it the car, and wait until the perf. versions of the C7 come.........I would not spend $30k + on the C6 right now. good things come to those that wait

.........oh, and do the house

Thanx for the info on vengeance drfeelgood I think this is the route I am going to take.

redz4me....house is a def! Only reason we have not purchased one yet is because my wife and I are from the eastcoast and currently in New Mexico. The C7 isnt doing it for me I looked at them last weekend as an option. Im not gonna bash the car but simply put the c6z is my styling preference. The c7 looked small (like a lotus elise) and seems like so much is going on with the car. Scoopes here and vents there and the rear does not say "Corvette" to me. I don't know it reminds me of a aftermarket styling them oem. Just not my style I think GM is trying to capture the youth market and I believe they will. I will stick to the C6 body style until something catches my eye.
