Was using it mounted just above the dash and plugged into the auxiliary outlet on the console with the supplied Smart Cord before hard wiring.

Valentine One. Everytime. I'm a storm chaser, drive high speed 30,000 miles per year. Last ticket was 16 years ago. I'm satisfied.

Escort 9500ix or Max....all day everyday...I have the 9500ix and love it and have heard great things about the Max...
The lead time for an alert is second to none on mine and with the speed trap and red light cam alerts as well it's the best co-pilot for me....
Both on the high end price wise but you want a good detector you have to pay...

I purchased the Escort Max a little over a week ago in anticipation of my C7 (although with the Z51 constraints who knows when it will come). So far very happy with the radar detector. Was passing a slow truck upstate NY so I had to do around 85 to pass. The detector went nuts and 2 miles up the road was a trooper roadblock. The second save on the 4 hour journey. The only problem is the suction cup - it falls off the window sometimes which I read about in other reviews. But is is the latest technology and seems not to have too many false alarms. The auto learn function is an added bonus.

I have a number of the detectors mentioned. All are great and have their own advantages and features.
I am waiting for Blendmount to figure out the mirror configuration. I don't have my car yet but I understand the mounting can be a challenge.

I have passport 9500 it is great. I tried the v1, it is great too but it is too sensitive it was beeping all the time so you may start ignoring it. I think it is better on the freeway than in the city because of false alarms.

I tapped into the accessory power in the console. There is a good ground connection hex head bolt to the left of the console under the dash. I ran the wire under the door trim and pushed the wire under the A pillar. That connection is hot when the ignition or accessory is on.

I've had a Passport 8500 for several years and it's great. Question on the V1 - I found the X-band to be false alarms 99% of the time and deactivated it on the Passport. Can you do that on the V-1?
