What will a C8 bring vrs a C7!!!
I'm sorry I am gagga over this car!!! I thought getting my first corvette a c5 almost 15 years ago was as good as it gets man was I wrong.
Was a great car.....
As I was washing it today after my first rain storm and just wowed with the car I was wondering how GM is ever going to change the C8 to make it better then the C7?
For anyone saying redo the rear....... yea I scratched my head too but know what? People come up NOT knowing what it is. If it had the rounds they would know.
I know we have a Z or widebody coming but I would hate to have to fill these shoes.
Only thing I can think of is a mid engine and that has a lot more risk than taillights!!!

I think if GM is going to push the driving dynamics to the next level, the next generation car may be mid-engine. That's a long ways off, though. Enjoy your new ride!

Other than mid engine or awd we will see more refinement rather than radical change. The c7 is still the same basic design of the c5, as was the c6. Most vette owners looking under the cars on a lift could not tell which was which. I am hoping computer design will allow gm to come up with a mid engine car that is affordable and usefully reliable in the future.

Seems like the pattern has been ground up redesign followed by an evolutionary model with some tweaks. C5 was a clean sheet redesign, C6 an evolution, C7 redesign.
I could see a C8 with DCT, a few extra ponies, evolutionary styling changes, and upgraded infotainment.

They were for sure going to be flying by 2000!
I am still mad they didn't deliver!
Oh sure they can fit a computer in a phone in your hand, that could have filled a huge room when I was a kid, I would rather have a flying car than an iPhone (and I like my iPhone).

Here you go:
Engine will be in the front, V8, even better gas mileage, maybe some small electronic assist motors for more horsepower, and it will be a better all around car than the C7 just as the C7 is a better all around car than the C6...and yes, some people will prefer the looks of the previous generation...around and around we go. This is nothing new.
PS - I predict the corvette will never move to a V6...after all, what the hell for? By the time this would become necessary, technology will improve to the point where future high tech V8 will deliver INSANE MPGs. We are already starting to see it.
