LS7 with an A&A kit reliable to what HP?
To what WHP is around the most the LS7 can take with an A&A kit and the normal bolt ons headers/ported intake/TB, heads, no cam on 91. I'd like to be around 580-620whp and not have to worry about my motor blowing.
I like this option since I can remove my headers if I wanted and not have to deal with BS smog stuff since the A&A is carb legal. I want more power whether that comes with installing the cam I have with a fast 102, selling my Z for a ZR1, or doing the S/C. Car is paid off so obviously modding this car would be the cheapest route lol.
I have a good tuner so I'm not worried about the whole "if the tunes good situation". So I'm more curious if the LS7 can hold 580-650whp boosted reliably

I think you're fine.. they have guys running around at over 700rwhp on stock blocks.. not sure how long they last but I would feel fine at 600rwhp on a stock block for sure..
Ive contemplated the same, with selling the z for a zr1.. I ended up doing HCI but might do a supercharger and maybe even lsx down the road... I decided to keep the z
edit: why not add a meth kit just for safety?

Well I have not had mine long at all so I can't really say how reliable yet... But I'm at 660whp tuned on conservative on 91 but I have H/C with a FAST 102.
There are several several other cars here on forum that have over 700whp that have had zero issues some have meth some don't.
If your tune is spot on 580-650 I don't think should be a problem

580-600 would be easy. In fact it maybe hard to turn the boost down and timing low enough to only make 600. My car on <6psi and 11 degrees of timing made 705rwhp on a stock bottom end ls7.

with Unreal you can easily run 6 to 7 psi on the LS7 with meth and spot on tune.

That was without meth, just 91.

Mods at the time were A&A kit, PRC 285cc heads, 228/234 blower cam, LG headers, fast 102.

I assume you have normal function of your right foot. The rest is up to you. It can go either way.
Can ALL of those 600-700 horses be harnessed to deliver a definite advantage for a purpose build car for street and road courses, or are they superfluous and unusable due to traction loss? At what point are you just wasting your money on power you can't use?

My 2008 Z06 with A&A kit and ARH 1 7/8's headers w cats
tuned to 12 degree's and 8 psi did 585 and 541 (mustang dyno) on 91 octane.
V-3si blower.
FULLY HEAT SOAKED AT 225 DEGREE'S !
So in cool air who know's (guess 625) plus
I swapped blower heads to an 1500sl Paxton.
People don't realize that the boost takes the Ls-7 to 450 plus
rwtq at around 2200 this more than the N/A makes at 5000.
So the low end is not lacking and the top end is well!
Smoking!
Seems to pull harder up top with the same feel on the bottom.
On the change from V-3si to 1500 Paxton (same as V-3 T trim)
Been driving around for 25k with the kit and headers.
It lifts up and goes never use wide open but it eats on the road everything easy!
Love those 750 BMW's thinking there going to hang!
I had the same kit on the base car but the Z platform is faster with the same power. The lighter frame and bigger tires pushes easier.

mentioned SC to my builder (getting some work done in a few weeks) and the first thing out of his mouth was "forged pistons" we didn't even go into how much boost. My guess is it really depends on how much stress you plan on putting the car through on a regular basis, and how healthy your bottom end is is.
I think if I ever went this rout I'd go forged.

I really appreciate this thread.
Been thinking about having A&A supercharge my '08 Z06 at some point.
Good to hear from people who have had it done for a while and haven't had any problems, it inspires confidence.

I am in a Z06 today because of this scenario. I had a 680rwhp Dodge Viper and although it dynoed with the best of them, it was useless on the streets. I could never completely use the power and it negated the car's fun factor. Enough to the point that I decided to part ways with her and move to a milder Z06 550whp currently. I don't plan to add more power to my current car as I feel I am at the threshold of fully utilizing the power on the streets.
