Default Discount on a C7?

I'm ready to buy a C7 but won't/can't bring myself to pay MSRP. I'll wait until I can pick one up at 5% under MSRP. Anyone have an educated guess as to how long that will be? Please don't attack me, it's just a question. If you want to pay MSRP or more that's great, it's just not for me.

Do you currently own a Corvette or other performance car or does each passing day mean another day without a Corvette or other performance car?

Next year's model should see some discounts IMO. It will take about that long for the frenzy to die down and for GM to make enough cars that dealers will have then sitting on the lot for more than a week or two.

I'm surprised Harvey T. Gluck hasn't put his up for sale yet.

Any 14's with the A6 should have large discounts once the 15 is announced with the A8. Big Discounts IMO.

When the 2015's go into production next June/July, 5-6% discounts shouldn't be a problem on left over 2014's. After the first of the year(Jan 2014) $1,000-$2,000 discounts will be the norm. IMHO. With the present restraint on the Z51 option, that will tend to hold the price up later on the Z51's, but will cause greater discount on the base C7 as GM will build them to fill the pipeline, and they will be filling up the dealer's showrooms.

Like Sam said, if the A8 is in the 2015, discounts will be high on left over 2014's with the A6.

Not likely to make an impact. The C6 came out with a A4, then went to an A6 the next year. You underestimate how many Corvette buyers don't even know when a new transmission comes out, or whether they care or not. There will also be buyers who don't want the new transmission the first year (I personally know a guy like that when the A6 came out on the C6)

5% off I would guess 3-6 months away. There are already many sitting on lots for MSRP. That said I would wait for the 2015 if your looking for a discount.

All depends on the market. Here in NoVA I bet that dealers will still be at 10K over MSRP until August.

Wait, those badmouthing the C7 as a first model year often cite the new transmission expected in 2015! To be consistent...

Spending upwards of close to 70 grand and you are waiting for a couple dollars off...?

No offense but MSRP is not an insult if a car is priced correctly from the get go...

If you have the means and the current need? I don't really see the problem with paying MSRP....

We do it quite often in our lives in many areas of purchases....

I do suggest searching greg2000 forum member as I believe he easily receive a 2500 dollar discount on his purchase if it matters...

I also suggest you get a GM credit card as you can get a greater discount off as well.

My experience last week. I contracted three dealers who had vehicles in stock for sale. Did not find color or options I wanted but one dealer offered $1,000 off sticker if I would take one of the three he had in stock. I thanked him but passed. Three days later I received a call telling me they had allocation available and could get what I want probably in six weeks, maybe a little longer. If I took the deal they would sell for $1,500 off MSRP. Deals are always available if you look and they will get better in the next six months once the rush subsides.

I'm willing to bet by Jan-Feb timeframe you should be able to get at least $2k off.

Sold my C6 2 months ago and miss it EVERY day. That being said I'm cheap...er, thrifty and can't bring myself to pay MSRP. I totally understand your point.
