1973 vette
good morning
I am new to ncrs. I just bought a ncrs car. it is a 1973 L82 car. I was told because it has a top flight award it scored at least 96 points. I am trying to figure out what was wrong with car. the previous owner is no help. don't want to get into that. I was told the clock looks original but it is not because it has quartz movement. did this car come with L82 on the hood? any help would be appreciated.
thanks

If the previous owner didn't provide the actual judging sheets with details of the deductions, you're out of luck. There are no other copies.
A 96 point car would look 'perfect' to the casual observer. The deductions might have been for insignificant minor points including condition of parts that have lost their factory finish, some parts that are service replacements or some operational issues like you've found with the clock.
Since you're a member, have the car re-judged. Then you'll hear first handed what the judges think.
BTW- the certificate in your pic appears to be blank. If so, how do you know it belongs to your car?

the certificate is very lite but it is readable. I spoke with perry from the ohio chapter because that is where the car came from. he told me he judged the car and even sent me pictures of him with the car. thanks for your help

Nice 73 I am restoring one right now. I am looking at my 73 tech service and judging guide and I don't see where the L-82 hood emblem should be there. It talks about a 454 but not the L-82. I am sure the NCRS site could be more assistance.
Congrats on the new buy!!

Hi a11,
Almost a new member! WELCOME!
Looks like you have a very nice car there!
I believe the use of the L-82 hood emblem began for the 1975 model year.
Perhaps the 73-74 Tech Manual and Judging Guide doesn't mention it since it wasn't in use until 75.
Regards,
Alan
