Default wanting p1sc 6-rib kit. questions

Got a few questions. 1. Was wondering if people had belt slip issues on the 6-rib p1sc setup running off the stock balancer? Only planning to rub 5-6lbs of boost max. 2. question is how reliable should this motor be on the low boost of 5lbs? Could it be reliable on 5lbs for 40k+ miles with a good tune? Car has 30k miles now... 3. And, should I be able to run 5 lbs of boost and not have to worry about pinning crank? Would be way easier to install kit without having to pin the crank! 4. And lastly, where is a good place to find used kits forsale? I found a few on here, but would like to know if there is another forum besides this one and ls1tech where people sell vette parts... Also if you have a p1sc 6-rib setup you would like to sell please pm me or txt me at 620-417-5522.

z99 you shouldn't have any problems with belt slip at 5 lbs of boost and at that level you will have no issues with reliability with the proper tune. There are many venders on here that easily can tune 5 psi to last longer than you may even have the cart, also run meth and it'll be even better yet.

Agreed. You shouldn't have belt slip and at that boost level with the proper tube it should last virtually forever. There are people out there with over 100K supercharged miles on their C5's.

Be sure to pin the crank for sanity purposes.

I was told by Bob at brute speed it would be good not to pin with only 6lbs.

I guess when you spin on the crank it could loosen the bolt and cause damage? Couldn't you just clean up the crank if it spun and be okay?

Well, someone can correct me if I'm wrong but a supercharger belt pulls pretty hard on the balancer, if the bolt come loose and the balancer loosens up and starts wobbling at a high speed I imagine your bearings inside the motor will take a beating that will likely require replacement.

Have you seen a stock balancer? its a 2 piece from the factory with a rubber seal between.. its not the bolt coming out. That's one issue, the second issue, and the bigger issue is the whole balancer actually start slipping on the crank itself... I have seen it spin on a nos car as well..

I've actually seen the outer part that's separated by the rubber piece come off on stock vettes, seen it happen twice. Just starts walking and then comes right off, that or youll get lucky and itll throw the belt first giving you time to baby to a shop..

What mph should be gained in the 1/4 mile on a bolt-on 2001 z06 with only 5psi?

that's like asking what color car you should by.. its so general and open, with such limited info, no one could get you the answer...

generally speaking 1 psi worth 20-40 hp.. and this is depending on everything setup wise

Also didn't answer the other questions..so.. i ran a stock on stock 2000 with 10psi no meth at 580 for a year..no issues and a 2002 with bolt ons, but stock internals at 13 psi with meth making over 700hp for almost 2 years with no issues... an I beat the crap of of my cars..5 psi is nothing at all to worry about.

Pinning the crank isnt hard at all..its just time consuming.. but well worth the time invested because the parts are so cheap.. I have even used a broken drill bit for a pin, works just fine.

How is that an open question. Should be a very simple question. It has to have been done before on a stockish z06. Looking for input from someone who has ran 5-7lbs of boost on a stockish z06 what they trapped?

When i was pretty much stock... Headers, Catted Xpipe and P1 w/ 4.63 pulley and made 7lbs i made 520rwhp

I added a baby blower cam removed the cats and made a custom 4in blower inlet pipe without changing the pulley I made 585rwhp @ 8lbs

Then I added Borla Stinger exhaust a Meth kit and went down 1 pulley size and I ended up at 626rwhp @ 8.5lbs

1. Show me where you said my car is..... this this and this...

5 psi for me is way different then 5 psi for you... is makes a different..

2. even stock, times and mph differ from one driver to another since all stock zo6 are 6 sp.. can you drive or not?? that makes huge difference

3. if you come on here asking questions for help, then when you don't get an answer you are expecting, don't expect any more help when you cry about it..

4. 5 psi should be 11.2 at 117.. happy now??

whats funny is i have a complete p1sc1 setup sitting here that i was about to sell..but i don't need money and refuse to deal with people that cause issues for themselves.

1. What mph "should" be gained in the 1/4 mile on a "bolt-on 2001 z06 with only 5psi"? I said bolt on 2001 z06 on 5psi. What more do you want? tire pressure and spark plug gap? I'm not asking someone to tell me I will gain 7.357mph. Just looking for results... You're way over thinking my question. Just trying to get an idea of what I should gain obviously assuming I'm a decent driver...

5 psi for me is way different then 5 psi for you... is makes a different..

2. even stock, times and mph differ from one driver to another since all stock zo6 are 6 sp.. can you drive or not?? that makes huge difference

2. I'm a good driver, but again overthinking a simple question.

3. if you come on here asking questions for help, then when you don't get an answer you are expecting, don't expect any more help when you cry about it..

3. Never cry'd about anything... You came into my thread complaining about this question I asked. It's a simple question. The guy above answered exactly what I was looking for..

4. 5 psi should be 11.2 at 117.. happy now??

4. I should trap that now, but your STILL missing the point. I didn't ask what I should trap.. I said "what should be gained" mph wise. Big difference. Also didn't ask for et because obviously that depends on 60ft, shift time and everything else.

whats funny is i have a complete p1sc1 setup sitting here that i was about to sell..but i don't need money and refuse to deal with people that cause issues for themselves.
That's awesome and you can choose who you sell too... I bought a complete kit gauges and all today! Not causing any issues for myself?

I think low 11s at 120ish would be good, might be high 11s while you work on your 60 fts, maybe even a 12, dont feel bad about it, just takes time and willingness to not worry about breaking your car long enough to run it that hard.. Also dont forget a clutch and torque tube bushings, I blew out both at 500whp, isnt pretty...

It's a chance you take I suppose. You can probably get away with not doing it. However statistically speaking you going against the odds if you think you won't want to pulley down in the future. With that said, Given how easy and inexpensive is to do, I don't see a reason not to pin your crank.
