Default Blendmount radar detector mount in the C7?

I have used this setup in my recent cars and hope to be able to do it in the C7. I know Blendmount has a special mount for the C6.

For any of you familiar with Blendmount C6 setup and who have seen the C7, do you think the C6 mount will work? Will they need a new design for C7? Is it impossible?

Default Rearview mirror mount

I have a battery powered RD because I hate cords..it makes the detector heavier...I was wondering how that might play out with the mount I'm thinking of purchasing. I don't remember the name but it mounts between the rearview mirror and it's mount. Any body got pics specifically of the rearview mirror setup?

My research led me to abandon cordless radar detectors. Apparently in the radar detection business it's all about power, and the battery models just can't measure up.

They certainly do simplify the mounting issue.

Google "Blendmount" and check out their site. Plenty of pics.

I just got the newest detector from "Escort" and it comes with a very big heavy duty "mount". Check out their site I think you will be impressed with their mount. They are "top of the line" detectors.

I use a product called Invisicord to tap into the mirror power. I think Blendmount now has their own version but they work the same. Just need to know where in the harness to tap in.

I am assuming those who use the C6 Blendmount also are tapping in the same way.

I have one. Blendmount is currently working on their own mount for the Max.

That suction cup is HUGE.

I used a blendmount on my C6 but have decided not to use one on my C7. I like to mount my detector on the left side of the dash where it is hidden from the rear. I just completed a 3,000 mile road trip with my new passport Max and it worked great. I direct wire into the fuse box of all my cars and use the velcro from ezpass to mount to dash. I find it easier to tranfer from car to car.

You might wanna consider the Escort Passport 9500ci ... custom installed front/rear radar and laser/jammer. It's a GREAT system - pricey, but really great.

Looking at the pics, that is a really bad setup. Front and back view/sensitivity has got to be poor.

I know it's an awesome detector, but......

I used two detectors, one on dash like picture shows and one on blendmount and they both got the same signal at the same time. Rear detection may be a bit less. i found that my mirror vibrated to much with the blendmount hanging from mirror.

Valentine V-1's are also great detectors and their customer service is terrific.

I asked BlendMount about the C7. They have it covered. Use the mirror tap. It gets power from the mirror. Works great. Looks great and picks up thru the back window. I have it on my C5 and will put it in the C7.

I'm hoping the visor mount I currently use for my Escort will also work in the C7.

Curious if they still say they have a mirror tap! After giving up on the rear view mirror and trying to use the passenger vanity mirror power without success finally used fuse 37 in the rear. Found ground in the pasenger compartment foot well. Mounted my Passport Max as high as possible on the right side of the mirror using their new “Sticky Cup” mount. Routed wires across the top of the windshield and was able to tuck them in trim gaps on the “A” pillar so they are not visible.
Getting access to the rear fuse panel takes some effort!

Sorry to quote myself, but I'd like to report that the visor mount doesn't work at all in the C7. I resorted to using the suction cup mount to the windshield, with the power cord running down to the outlet.

Waiting patiently for a more elegant solution...

There are no exposed connectors in the rear view mirror area like the C6. It will require some more sophisticated wiring that simply tapping into the mirror connector like before. I pulled off the plastic cover in that area and there is no exposed wiring. I didn't have a whole lot of time when I did this so I didn't dig any further.

Those stickers placed just in front of the detector can't help
