Default Road America: My GS next to a C7

My 2013 Grand Sport next to a C7. The C7 looks better in person....but I would not give up my Grand Sport for it.

That's a whole lot of black on the back of the C7...didn't realize that.

Everything works on the C7 for me except the taillights and the chrome line on the front grill. The GS looks great BTW.

This is a great photo spread, thank you. I really love seeing side by side photos.

2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified

You know, they really don't change these Corvettes very much anymore.

Look at the differences between a C1 and a C2 .... BIG BIG BIG difference in body style.

C2 and C3 .... REALLY BIG difference in body style

C3 and C4 .... MASSIVE difference

C4 and C5 ... FAIRLY BIG difference

C5 and C6 ... Very little difference

C6 and C7 ... If you look at both of them, there are differences, but the overall body style is much the same.

Even in your standard Chevrolets:

57 to 58 to 59 Chevy ... Absolutely nothing the same about these 3 year models

60 to 61 Chevy ... Completely different

64 to 65 Chevy ... Very Very different

Nowadays, these car manufacturers just don't make the massive changes from year to year like they used to.

I much prefer the empty opening in the front of the C6. That bar across the C7's opening just isn't right. I wouldn't want a bar across the opening of a Cobra's front end either. I also like the look and location of the fog lamps on the C6.

Thanks for the pics. I agree. I just upgraded from a 98 C5 to a 13 GS.

Well, let's review..The C7 lines are just to angular for me...that chrome thing across the grill area.. Overall,I'm glad I got my 13 GS. The C7 is just not at all appealing.
I would not give up my Grand Sport for it.
AMEN!!

I recently followed a C7 on the highway and got a good look at it. It does look better in person, but I'm still not impressed with the looks of the car.

It definitely got my attention, mostly out of curiosity and its rarity, but once I start seeing more of them, I probably will not give them a second look

The rear end still looks like a Pontiac Trans Am to me

Chrome line makes it look like it's wearing braces.

I have exactly the same 2013 GS.

From the pictures I've seen I think the C7 looks good in some colors and rough in others. But they all look like a Corvette front half mated to a Japanese or European rear end.

I appreciate the improvements in the C7 design but I wanted the classic Corvette curved rear window and round taillights, and thats why I bought the 13 GS last month. Still not one regret.

Thanks for the pics.

I hope it looks better in person because that frontal is wrong.

I kinda think the C7 gives the vette line a new refreshing update. The back end can be addressed with after market ones just like some do with the narrow C6 by going wide body, different hoods, etc. Im sure the chrome piece can come off if its an eye sore to some. Im sure the mesh grills be out for the C7 via forum vendors. But with the interior improvements and all its looking fresh. I will be looking in year from now.

Curious to know if the hate was the same for the C5 owners when the C6 came out. I guess I just don't get it.

Exactly..well said. When the C6 came out as soon as I saw the 1st spy shot on the back of that flat bad I knew I had to have one. Didn't need to "see it in person"!!

IMO, AW is not a flattering color on the C7 or certainly is NOT for me...

I liked my VY 2007 enough to buy a TR 2011. I have no plan whatsoever to get rid of my 2011. I believe the C6 is an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME vehicle with a classic look. I enjoy the acceleration, handling and braking capabilities of my Corvette as much as anyone here.

I believe a properly cared for Corvette of every generation is a beautiful work of kinetic art. Both cars pictured in the original post qualify, IMHO.

I like'em both... but if I had to pick only one, I'd have to go with the C7.

And I also have to be honest and say the rear end has grown on me.

I like the C6 rear bumper.. But the new C7 does make it look a little dated now.
