Why?

You either want an auto or you don't. It's not like it's going to change much.

Add a tenth or so 0-60, drop an mpg or two, and there you go.

Basically it's the same auto as in the C6 and beefed up a bit, they have also changed the paddles to operate like most others (Right UP, Left DOWN), if you havent seen it here is the YouTube on its operation.

Yes, I would like to see 0-60 and 1/4 times, I am sure they will be published at some point.

No automatic offered for first year production. To many 7 speeds ordered. Hopefully next year.

As I understand it, no. The A6 Z51 gets the dry sump too.

You get the dry sump with Z51 on both transmissions.

The StingRay's automatic trans has been improved by, at least, a better torque converter and much quicker gear to gear changes (whose shift-quickness can be changed via the driver mode selector, or "latched" through the settings via the driver information center).

Wasn't there mention earlier about an 8 speed auto in the works?

Good on the dry sump. The C6 GS A6 deleted it, but you paid for it.

very little information on the automatic?
that may be because there's nothing "earth shattering'ly" different about the tranny; so there's no need to tilt the spotlight towards it.

I thought the paddle shifters got the Camaro upgrade ? Meaning faster response time when shifting.

From GM...
The paddle-shift six-speed automatic is optimized for use with Active Fuel Management and features a lower-inertia torque converter for improved shift quality and shift speeds. In addition, shift feel and shift points can be adjusted through the Driver Mode Selector.

Some of the articles I've read 'suggest' the auto may be a touch quicker 0-60, but no test results have been published. Same for fuel mileage numbers, which will likely be slightly lower than the manual. I went with the auto this time with the understanding the paddle shift response has been improved.

Does anyone know if the C7 has the ability to manually shift with the ****? I know it has paddles but I like the option of using the **** in certain situations as well.

Did the C6 have the option to manually shift with both **** and paddles? If so, how did you manually shift with the ****?

I have driven some rental cars that have odd shifting methods, like flicking the **** left and right or pressing buttons on the top of the ****. Neither of these make sense to me. My BMW has a separate gate to the left of D that allows you to upshift by pulling the **** back and downshift by pushing forward and I really like this method and hope the C7 has this as well.

Manually shift with the paddles only like the C6, there is no + - gate in the selector, just D and M.

Wait, there is an option other than the 7 speed manual? That's just crazy talk!
