Girlfriend asked for '63 SW for wedding gift
I don't know if I should take this seriously or not but she said she wants a '63 split window for a wedding gift. She doesn't want any jewelry and doesn't even care about the ring size. She just wants a '63 in her name.
Now I have always wanted a '63 split window myself but putting that asset in her name, damn she's a smart cookie.
I don't have much experience with C2s
So my first questions about the '63 split window car...
Can you get an auto, A/C, P/S split window car?
She can drive manual but I prefer she doesn't.

You've got a 'gold digger' there pal. Otherwise, why the insistence on it being in her name ?
My wife married me when I was fresh out of the Army and had just started a $500/month job.
I had nothing but a rusted out slant-6 Plymouth. That was in 1975; we're still together and in love.

My original plan was to try and find a '96 GS vert for her with license plates his and hers.
But she doesn't want that she is in love with the 60s era cars

I'm not discussing my relationship. I'm asking about '63 SW cars.

All I can say is "High Maintance", Girlfriend/Wife/63SW. In this case 2 out of 3 is bad....
Spend the money on a Home. Easier to live in than a Car.
Worst case, She'll look good leaving, in more ways than just in the SW.

You can find a '63 with all the features you want...A/C, power steering and an auto. You can keep the price down if you go for a non-original motor car. I have an eBay search that sends me SWC listings daily. A few of these cars have shown up. NOM cars are in the $55K-$62K range with aftermarket A/C. I haven't seen anything much cheaper show up that you would want to put your girl in.

That's fair enough and I shouldn't presume I guess.

Thank you, this is the information I'm looking for. I don't think she is too worried about number matching if the car is clean inside and out and is a sound driver with A/C and power steering

Mike Terry, a well-known forum member, has one for sale and he is a straight shooter and his stuff is invariably reasonably priced. You should PM him and make an inquiry.
At least you'll know what you are getting with this fella.
