Drove up to the NCRS National Convention, which happened to be in Hampton, VA this year, to check out the C7.

I've had a few C5s and want a C7. Took a long lunch break to go check out the car. I'm 6'4" 260 so all the chatter on the forum had be worried about fitting in it.

It has plenty of room. The trick is to get the seat all the way down and back. If the seat back is reclined too far the seat won't go all the way back so here's the order I used.

1. Slide the seat base forward.

2. Incline the seat back.

3. Put the seat base all the way down. Make sure the seat base back and front are all the way down; it will tilt up.

4. Put the seat base (entire seat) all the way back until it won't go any more.

5. Recline the seat back until it hits the "wall" panel behind it.

6. Get in.

7. Move seat base about 1" forward.

8. Recline seat back until it hits the rear wall again.

I had a good 1.5" over my head before I hit the headliner. When I first got in I felt a little too close to the roof and too upright, but had more leg room than needed. Moving the seat up a little and reclining it a little more made it perfect. The steering column is power tilt and telescope so I could get it exactly where I needed it.

The car is a little tighter side to side than a C5, but in no way uncomfortable. The passenger side does have less leg room but I still fit there too. Not sure I'd want to take a long road trip in the passenger seat, but I fit w/o touching the dash or any interior panels.

Car is stunning... I'm sold. I guaranty most complaining about not fitting don't have the seat all the way down/back.

Oh and one of the taller Hendrick reps said the Competition Sport seats are thinner and actually provide more room so long as your not "too large" i.e. fat to fit in them. The torch red car had them and they didn't look overly constrictive. Couldn't sit in that car though.

That Kalahari looks awesome by the way. Looks more brown than orange in that picture. Cant wait to see it myself in person. Hopefully it looks very close to Ferrari's "Tan" leather.

Really liked it... the 3LT was as nice as any Porsche. Seemed every bit as nice as my mother's CLS550 Mercedes. Nicer than any Corvette I've ever been in.

That's exactly how I'd describe it... "Ferrari Tan".

It'll be there tomorrow too... open 9-4 I think. I was bummed as I wanted to go on a weekend then said screw it and took a two hour lunch today.

Well, at 5' 6" and 140 pounds I'll just reverse your instructions. Ordered 3LT Kalahari, it is difficult to really get a grip on the color because in photos/renderings inside and out in sun, the color seems all over the place at times. One C7 ahead of me at my dealership, hopefully I get my call up in August maybe August 1??? Thanks for the pictures, looks like a CRT with 3LT Kalahari which is what I have on order.

Whew!!! I'm 5' 6" @ 140 and was worried I wouldn't fit ...then I realized I could fit in the suitcase in the back which was a relief....:-)

Does the kalahari interior in the pic you posted depict the actual color in person?

I think so... it's a baseball glove type color. As I said before it screams "Ferrari" to me. It looked great with Crystal Red and will be exotic when paired with Torch. By its nature it's more orange than the old pale neutral "cashmere" colors that passed as tan. It's similar to the tan interior in the older SN-95 Mustangs.

It is not always how tall you are that determines if you fit comfortably in a car. My son and I are both 6ft 5in tall. I am fine in my C6, but he is not. I have longer legs and he has a long torso. His head its the roof where I have an inch to spare.

I'm 6'3" with more torso than leg and I already am at the limit in the C6, especially since I like to drive with a vertical seatback and not all laid back. I still have my doubts on the C7 but will reserve final judgement until I can spend some time in one.

I'm 6'6 and I fit in JUUUUUUST right in my C6 convertible and my dad's Z06. So perfectly in fact, that if I was just a bit taller, I think I might lose the "magic formula" or something of that nature. So I was a bit worried until one of the dealers was nice enough to release the internal dimensions of the C7 vs. the C6 and they are bang-on between both cars.

But, now that I see your tall *** in there, it just gives me further hope that I might fit too.
