Default ECS/DTE Trans Brace (cage) vs. PFADT Trans Brace

Just twisted my trans pretty good and snapped the mainshaft in the diff. Looking for the opinions of people with higher hp or lots of track time who have the PFADT one and if they had any issues with JUST the diff bushing replacement brace. And if they ever needed to further the restraint and put on the cage.

Now would I be fine is I just got the pfadt trans brace. Like this one.

Or would I NEED a cage like the ECS/DTE one, like so as well...

Thanks in advance!

I'm running both the Pfadt along with the ECS brace. Not sure which you would benift better from! I figured that I would be better safe than sorry by running both.

The Pfadt unit that you have pictured is suppose to help eliminate wheel hop.

The DTE/ECS, trans/differential brace strut kit , holds the two units together & helps from twisting & is suppose to help from cracking the trans & differential cases..

With either of the three units, with too much torque & HP & wheel hopping...Your still prone to trans & differential shaft breakage.

Many that are breaking trans & differential shafts are switching to the C/6 rear cradle, differential & C/6 tranny (with good results)

The DTE/ECS, trans/differential brace strut kit prevents flex in one direction-think of a solid diff car. the nose of the diff wants to rise on acceleration. This brace prevents the diff and trans from flexing front to rear.
The Pfadt unit prevents the diff from rotating side to side.
this saves the side covers and shafts.

Install both

Well said, the two have totally different purposes. In your case you would have not had your failure with our brace, or at least I should say I do not know of anyone who has had that problem with our brace in place.

I'm running the PFADT and the ECS braces --no wheel hop. You have alot of options good luck with your choice.

I've got both, too. With street tires, and 600 HP, it feels secure, and stable when the tires are spinning. I'd love to try it with sticky tires.
