Default 2007 Z06 with 30k miles selling for $20,000

I didn't know the C6Z06 came with an automatic?????

2007 Corvette Coupe with the Ron Fellows Z06 Options w/ 30k miles

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ctd/3907894954.html

If it is legit someone may want it even thought it says salvage title.

If it is a scam then people should be aware.

Could it be a non-Z06 that was totaled and someone put the Z06 quarter panels on it?

What do you Z06 experts say?

Edit: That car is not mine and I have no interest in it. I found it while searching craigslist for Corvettes.

If I had to guess, salvaged car turned into track car with Z06 engine replacement, and now it is being sold very cheaply. You don't need a radio on a track. Great deal, but you will need to have it inspected to be street legal again. One thing that DOES NOT add up in the add is that the owner claims "I am driving it on occasion" a car that has no registration. That is illegal. Possible scam.

It's definitely not a Z06. It has auto and removable roof thus a steel chassis as opposed to aluminum. I can assume the Z06 goodies installed is the body work and maybe brakes to go with the wheels

It says it's a coupe with RF Z06 stuff added...I read that as a Z06 body kit. To me I see a clone from a base coupe...there is one here in town just like it, has the Z06 badges and body panels (wide body kit) but when you pop the hood you are greeted by a supercharged LS2. The one here is red though.

It is a 2007 coupe, that was repaired after the accident with the Z06 wide body kit and then painted and stripes added to simulate the Ron Fellows edition. It most likely has the LS2 engine not the LS7. The salvaged title would be the sticky point.

If it is a base C6 that is salvage and has Z06 body panels it isn't worth even $10k.

Why do people put Z06 badges on non-Z06 Corvettes?

If it was a true Ron Fellows Z06 for 20 grand (even with a salvage title) it would be a good buy! Seeing that it is not... I would stay away from it!

Having been hit and new and different panels used for repair would not get a salvage title. It had worse problems than just panels to get to salvage.

The real question is does it have an LS7 or an LS2 under the hood.

I am sure it is just a z06 clone with an ls2 for 20,000. It looks nice if you can title it go for it.

Here in Illinois yes they do issue salvage titles. But even if it were legit, no way the Secretary of State issues a salvage title on just replaced fenders hood/minor damage. It had to be a hard/bad accident to get salvage on it. One more point I am in Chicago and look at he phone number area code. That is not around here. Local is 312 773 603 224. Something stinks here.

Well I see 414 area code is the Milwaukee area. So maybe he listed here in Chicago area for more responses. Still stinks to me.

Someone needs to call him and find out the story on this car. I would run, not walk, as fast as I could in the other direction.

Don't walk...RUN from ads like this. Even if by some astonishingly, crazy miracle that it is semi true, it still is nothing that you want anything to do with, even for the amazing deal it might be.
