My 92 Vert got beaten by a 98 LS1 Z28. It took me to school 1,2 and 3 times.
Is not that the hate the C4 they are saying facts, the LS1 TA is a better car.

I've never had a C4, but have had 7 Camaro's including a 2000 SS. Once I got my 04 Corvette it's just a different world. I was always used to a Jeeper wave, but was kinda shocked when I got the Corvette wave. Performance is what most of us do, so there's a solution if you need more. After a few years all Corvettes draw your attention if they're clean and taken care of no matter what Gen. All I can say is it's different, and I'm an LS owner who appreciates them all.
I thought the 00 SS was junk. I squeaked going over parking lot speed bumps. Funny, II was telling the wife I'd like to get a later C3, and she said C4.

I'm kinda surprised honestly. The LS1 was "supposedly" 300ish hp in the Camaro, and the LT1 was about that in the Corvette. The Corvette should be lighter, so I'd think that they'd be pretty dead even, with the Corvette maybe winning by a slight amount.

LS engines are wonderful.
Drove a slightly warmed over LS2 GTO six speed a couple years back. That thing would hand my '95 it's *** on a platter. I've only driven one LS1 F Body and it's been awhile, but it was no slouch. And they can be had for a song nowadays.
They were ugly as the north end of a southbound mule though. Whoever green lighted that ginormous dual nostril hood on the T/A did way too much acid back in the day. The whole car looked a bloated hallucinogen induced caricature of the third gen.
