Supersonic 427

Took a ride to Little River SC yesterday and stopped at the Chevrolet dealership there. He had about 6 Corvettes mostly GS'S and one 427 60th anniversary convertible. The 60th 427 had an MSRP of 91k and change and they have a market adjustment price of $99,500 on it!!
Only can imagine what his C7 prices will be like!

perhaps the owner doesnt want to sell it, hence the price. there are a multitude of reasons why folks do things, but its freedom on both sides. he is free to price it, we are free to shop elsewhere.

Market adjustment reminds me of 2006 when I wanted to order a new z06 and the best the local dealers would do was MSRP + $25,000. They wouldn't even honor GM Employee discounts on any vette. I ended up ordering a 2007 C6 base and a Trailblazer SS for about the same money. 2 for 1, and one for each season

I flew there from CO last week to pick up there 2nd to last 427 (Cyber Gray). Mine also had the $5K acquisition fee making it go from $93.6 to $98.6. When we talked prices we started at the actual MSRP w/o the acq fee. I used the GSU discount, factory rebate and loyalty rebate getting it down to $81K out the door.

To the OP, when I was shopping back in 08 my step mom saw what I wanted on the show room where she was having her car serviced. Gave the sales guy my name and phone number and he never called me.. Then on another occasion a sales guy won't leave me alone with the what will it take to sell you a car today crap... Makes you wonder...

I tried to buy a 50th AE from local dealer. Was told the cost would be sticker price + $5k NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.

I laughed and asked again. Was given the same answer.

That car sat in his showroom for a long, long, long time.

I find it hard to believe that forum members even contemplate buying locally when you have forum sponsors who have the absolute best rock bottom prices available on new Corvette's. I wanted to spend my money at the local Chevy dealer when I was in the market for my Z06, however the local dealership couldn't come close to the deal I got from Tommy Jr. They claimed they would be losing $5K if they sold it for the price I got it for from MacMulkin.

That's the reason I buy from Les Sanford Chev in Mi. my local dealers decide not to honor employee pricing on c5 and c6's my how times have changed in Atlanta should seen the look on their faces when I showed up with a company used c6. They were like we can't sell you that car for that price you have no choice my friend the salesman tells the GM who had previously worked for Honda dealer.

Let the dealer list it as he desires. There is nothing wrong for him (or her) trying to get the highest price for one of the few remaining untitled and relatively rare 427 60th roadsters. Buyers will determine what price is acceptable, and who knows there may be someone that is willing to pay MSRP or higher to get one.

Yes, I know that is improbable.

That's funny you say that. When I ran into the issue with the local markets in 06, I found this forum and that's when Rick Daniel was at Les Stanford. He told me about NCM delivery, accepted GM Employee discounts, and I ordered through them. Good experience.

Remember, there are Corvette virgins out there that don't know the forum dealers.
