Aftermarket Wheel and Tire Fitment Question/Curiosity
obviously not getting too technical because the car is not out.. but i'm trying to just get an idea from the C6 Z06 crowd (because i feel the Z06 crowd would be most knowledgeable in this area, versus the standard C6 guys)
on the C7, the stock wheels are 18x8.5 // 19x10, the z51 wheels 19x8.5 (245/35.19) 20x10 (285/30.20)...
i'm used to Porsche fitments which on both my RWD and AWD models i run 19x9/19x12 for the best bias.. 245/325 on RWD and 255/325 on AWD.
on the Vettes, i see mostly 12" or 12.5" rear, and sometimes 13" (obviously with work/tubbing).. but i'm curious if one were to run 345.25.20 rear... generally that would be a 20x12 or 12x12.5... what front would you prefer from a handling/bias standpoint... (lets not get concerned with offsets and appearances)
i was thinking a 9.5 with 265 might bring the bias back to normal? (255/35 or a 275/30)..
would appreciate thoughts as far as tire bias, and wheel width.. i know on the old vettes (a family friend once raced em, hell he ran 18x12's all around!)... but not looking for serious track time. just a proper neutral bias...
FWIW here are a set of my 19x9 (255) and 19x12 (325) for fun...

also, for what it's worth i prefer a nice squared sidewall versus anything stretched... which is why i felt the 345 on 12.5 would be good.. above is 325 on 12 (19" however) and it's pretty square.. i would keep the 19/20" bias because I do not want rubber band tires...
if 275 is a common front i would run 19x10 on 275... and then 345 on 12.5...
sorry for the confusion, just not used to the vette setup but feel the room under the fender on c7 should be similar to C6z06 if anything..
i really love this fitment and bias:

Actually all C7s will be so called wide body. That way they meet the max dimensions for a number of race organizations and entries can make use of the max wheel width allowed, etc.
