I have always dreamed of owning a Corvette, but life as always stood in the way (after all, living Colorado required also owning another car for the winter). But after a year of going thru a divorce, the stars aligned and I traded in my 04 CTS-V (I did love that car too) on a very clean 06 Monterey Red Corvette this week. So at 34 yrs old I FINALLY got my dream car, and absolutely loving it.

I will probably have all sorts a questions. But first is what do you all use to clean and polish your chrome wheels. There are all sorts of products out there and I don't want to end up with something that damages them.

Congrats and welcome. To keep my chromies looking shinny and brand new looking I use Nevr-Dull made by Eagle One. Comes in a silver can and found at most auto parts stores. Then follow it up with several coats of RejeX.

Chrome is easy to take care of. I just wash mine with car wash soap and water (by Armorall) and dry them. They shine like a mirror. Of course, you can put polish on them, too.

I've also been using the Armorall stuff you spray on the rims to keep the brake dust off. It works better than I expected.

I used a good car soap and water and with a wash mitt and one of those soft brushes made to fit in tight places. You can follow with a wheel polish or wax esp. if you live in an area that uses salt in the winter or has salt air like where I live now. Helps prevent rust in any places that might have a small flaw in the chrome.

Be careful what you use, some metal polishes say do not use on chrome or plated surfaces. I only use a sponge and clear water and they look great.

Congratulations. A little bit of rubbing with a good "Never Dull" pad and some Rejex and it will be cleaner than your new divorce. Best of luck.

I clean the wheels with windex. Then a coat of Rejex every 2-3 months. Other than that, soap and water works great.

As long as you don't let the brake dust build up and stay on the wheels for any length of time soap and water and a good coat of wax.

Great color by the way, I have an '07 Monterey Red coupe with the Cashmere interior.

Welcome to the forum! I, too, live in Colorado and just purchased my first Corvette - 07 Monterrey Red Z51 3LT. What an awesome ride. I had a 2010 Shelby Cobra GT500. That car was faster in the straights but couldn't corner near as well as my Vette. I will take the my Corvette any day over the Shelby. By the way, I live in Canon City.

I had an 06 Monterey Red and it is a beautiful color. If you haven't already, you'll see a big difference in the color depending on the light - sunlight, shade, indoor lighting, etc..

I just use soap and water to keep my chrome wheels shiny. If you haven't already, check out the Car Care Discussion Forum on here at:
