Default Do you go out of your way when parking?

I park far enough away so the spaces around me don't fill up by the time I leave but not so far away that my lonesome car draws too much attention.

I park as close to the front door of where ever I'm going as long as the space is wide enough. Been doing it for 2 years without incident.

Default Parking

I am a Disabled Combat Veteran, I have Disability License Plates. Always park up front. The spots leave plenty of room on both sides.

Thats about what I do too. If parking at a motel overnight, I try to park at the end as close to the curb as possible without rubbing against the curb, leaving plenty of space on the other side of the car.

I park so far away the wife asks if we can wait for a shuttle to take us to the door....

In all honesty, parking the Vette in a parking lot makes me not enjoy taking it....

i have a black truck with nearly zero scratches on it. one day while parked at a box store sortof away from the rest, i came out to find a cart into my door. received about a five inch long scrath, deep. its very unsightly, but its my truck which i drive a lot. its now 2.5 years old with 72k miles on it, and this one scratch......

now when driving the vette, i am cognizant of both where i park, and trying to park defensively to prevent a random cart incident, or if going to a busy lot, just leave the vette home.

I just size up the space as to provide enough room so opening the doors shouldn't be a problem. I park square within the space not drawing extra attention to my car. No problems to date.

I try to choose my parking space wisely. But, always some knucklehead has to be obnoxious and park next to me.

As I said in the other thread I have a NYPD Captains plaque and a NYS Court Officers Union plaque. I'll park on the sidewalk if it means not parking near anybody or to get close enough to where I want to go. And yes I have parked on the sidewalk before.

You are the man....a sidewalk, really where people can seamlessly walk close by with inconspicuous tools of etching destruction.........say it's a typo!!

No not a typo. Don't get me wrong its not something I make a habit out of nor would I block the path of people on a sidewalk. But if the situation allows me the opportunity, I have done it before without ever a repercussion and I have been doing it for about 10yrs. Believe me when I tell you that just about all people try to avoid the car when they see it parked in a compromising position.
