Guys and Gals, I have a $30,000 budget I'm going to look at two
Vetts this weekend, i know it my decision but this is my first CORVETTE and just asking for opinions from veterans.
1) 2006 non GS Maroon, 13,000 miles, Nav, seat heat, premium sound,
Z51, $32,000.
2) 2008 non GS Silver, 43,000 miles, non of the above options but 2
year newer, 36 more horsepower, $30,000. Newer, more HP or less
miles.
Thanks.

For me it would be less miles and more options. I have owned both, LS2 and now my LS3, cant really notice the difference.

much as I luv my '08, I'd get the '06 and bargain down even tho w. low miles it is probably in excellent shape. s/he may not bargain tho, and I might expect that.

Well, they are certainly both non-GS, since the Grand Sport (GS) C6 was offered in model years 2010, 11, 12, and 13.
I say look for at least one more option that solves the dilemma of buying a newer car with more miles for less money. The two you have listed are presenting a hard-to-solve conundrum.

I would have to go with the 06 with less miles and more options. I also love red!! Look awesome. Try to get the price down I think they are a little high
Good luck I know you will love what ever you end up with

The Grand Sport (GS) C6 was offered in model years 2010, 11, 12, and 13.
Therefore, the cars you listed as '06 and '08 models aren't Grand Sports.
I'm really not trying to be overly picky about this, and both those might be wonderful vettes to buy - but I do think you need to be sure the car offered isn't being misrepresented.
Otherwise, I say look for at least one more option that solves the dilemma of buying a newer car with more miles for less money. The two you have listed are presenting a hard-to-solve conundrum.

I couldn't live with a maroon car, but it's just me.
08 silver for me. 43k miles ain't nothing. Just put the car to the test.... not saying I would buy it, just shooting the $#!t along with everyone.

Keep looking. You should be able to find an '08 with less miles. Don't get in a hurry. It will be worth the effort.
BTW - WTF is wrong with maroon !! ??

Shop some more. Eleven months ago I paid $7,200 less than your 06 is priced for a one owner grey over silver 06 convertible with new tires, brakes, and a full 50,000 mile service including coolant and trans fluid change (and) a complete service record as the PO bought it from, always had it serviced by and traded it back into the same dealer. A real cream puff that had 53,000 on it. It also has everything but NAV and a power top. Shop some more....
