Special Reveal Event at the NCM on 6/28
From GM Authority -

What do we think?
Early for the Z06.
Fehan indicated the C7.R was close to ready for testing "after Le Mans"
My guesses were first delivery of a saleable C7 to Rick Hendrick but that wouldn't be a product reveal.
However - Caddy did just introduce two new models - the Vsport CTS and XTS with a new Twin Turbo V6 that puts out 410-420hp. Could it be the first 6 cylinder Vette since '54?

This could be nothing… or it could be something: the National Corvette Museum has a “Special Reveal Event” scheduled for this Friday, June 28th (2013) from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at its Conference Center. Did that tickle your fancy? Good, because the presenters will consist of none other than Harlan Charles (Corvette product manager) and John Fitzpatrick (Chevrolet Performance Cars marketing manager) – a feat that adds even more mystery and mystique to the event.
So, what could this special event bring? Given that the official groundbreaking of the NCM’s Motorsports Park (aka the Corvette Track) will take place at 9:00 am on Friday June 28th, the mysterious special event will probably revolve around a different topic than the upcoming track. So, could it be…
The unveiling of the C7.R?
The unveiling of a higher-performance Corvette C7, such as the C7 Z06?
The unveiling of a special edition Corvette C7?
We’re going to enter our hypothesis and say that the event will serve as the unveiling venue for the C7.R this Friday, a prediction whose likelihood is underscored by the fact that Corvette Racing is expected to begin testing the C7 in its racing guise in July for the 2014 racing season — making the timing of such an announcement just right.

Well, either the C7.R or the delivery of #0001 to Hendrick seem to be the most plausible scenarios. I know that Hendricks delivery doesn't count as a new product reveal, but it is the first 'customer' car off the line. Combined with the hype at Barrett Jackson, and the relative quiet from marketing till now, I vote delivery of the first one.

When last we saw them deliver the Hendrick's first ZR1, it was shown leaving the line.

WGAF that Hendricks get the first C7. I would be annoyed if they wasted a big reveal on that.

Remember what the Hendricks car signifies, it would mean that production has started. For those waiting to get a C7 that is an event.
C7R reveal, very possible. Z06 reveal, not likely.

The C7R is another, but aren't those actually built by Pratt and Miller? I can't remember how they revealed the C6R, is there some precedent for the race car at NCM?
The Z06 or ZR1 will probably not be revealed until Jan in Detroit I would guess. Just seems a little soon for this as many have orders in for their 'base' cars right now.
Unless MotorTrend was right about that 'entry level' ...no, not a chance.

Apparently they will be revealing two cars at the NCM event tomorrow. Currently they are covered and waiting for the reveal. Should be interesting! Check them out here:

Round taillights and square pistons. Increases displacement without increasing the bore and/or stroke. More displacement = more horsepower.

I really wish you hadn't shown that - now I've GOTTA buy one for my grandson!
Edit - Google leads indicate it will be $259.95 base price. No indication of options for different color brake calipers...............
