I do believe that in 2006 and 2007, the performance rear end was not available with the Z51, but I believe it was a two year thing, and the performance rear end was reinstated for 2008.

In 1997 the Z51($350 option) came with the performance rear end. The performance rear end($100 option) was also available to those that did not want the Z51 package but wanted the extra "dig".
I do believe that in 2006 and 2007, the performance rear end was not available with the Z51, but I believe it was a two year thing, and the performance rear end was reinstated for 2008.
