If you're going to track the car, then it's a no brainer.

Well, I presume you already know what you get with it, right - i.e. nicer wheels, heat exchangers, dry sump, mag ride/PTM, e-diff, brakes, tires, etc.

So, are those items important to you enough for 2.8 k or not? If so, get them; if not, don't.

I think the Mag Ride is not included w Z51. If it was that would literally be the deal of the century.

Z51 includes:

Larger brake rotors
Dry sump oiling
Limited slip differential
Larger wheels
More aggressive gearing
Larger spoiler
Split spoke wheels

Am I missing something?

Yup - I think you're right.

Even without that, IMO the package is worth it. I can see, tho, where others might not want it/need it.

All the nice stats introduced this past week from Virginia Speedway were truly impressive. They were achieved with a Z51 equiped car. If performance is important, I would not hedge a bet against it. Go for it!!! Plus the physical attributes of the car look better IMHO. If you dont do it...the odds are you will regret it. Good luck

In other words, ALL vents are functional. That is worth a lot right there

Default You are KIDDING right???

Based on the equipment, many on this board were guessing between 5 and 8k for this option, and it's 2800 and you need to be sold on it???? Forget tracking the car as the reason, although thats a good one, looks, rims, resale, eLSD, coolers, IT"S AN EASY choice...

I thought there was no difference between the size of the brakes, only size of rotors???

When I sold my C6 Z51, the Z51 option added ZERO value to my car.

That option and all others will be 100% depreciated when you drive it off the lot.

Sorry to break it to you guys.

Z51 is a gateway option. Well worth it for what it is, but it's what it lets you get that is important. Spoiler, wheels, MSRC...

Looks are a good reason if not tracking?

So its worth $2,800 just to say I have a Z51 equipped C7?

Aftermarket wheels and spoiler will be much cheaper than $2,800.

If that thought process matters to you (the future value vs. the current benefit/enjoyment) then why buy a Corvette at all? Simple buy a Honda Accord that costs way less and holds its value relatively well.
