Classy or Sporty
Heaven help me for posting here
I decided to order a C7 and I really cannot decide what to do.
My choices are order something classier, the Cybergrey and Kalahari interior which would cost me about 5K more because I would do a 3LT and get the two tone complete interior.
Or something sportier, a Velocity Yellow and stick with the 2LT Black interior, which would cost me about 5K less.
Part of me hates to spend 70K on a car. Common sense says wait a year and buy one used but business is doing very well and I can get one now if I wanted.
The other part of me is more looking at how I'd use the car and is the interior difference really that important. I like driving a car. Driving experience is more important than interior and I could take that 5K and do something else with it that I like.
Of course the hard part is not seeing one in person. The 2LT interior might be fine after all and I'd go with the classier color in the 2LT but I am really concerned about GM's 'world class interior', heard that one way too many times to sit down and find something far from world class.
Have to place an order/hold in the next week or two to get it when I want it which is around March of 2014.
Some pics of Cyber Grey and Kalahari look awesome, others do not...so hate to order and find out it looks like someone pooped in my grey car

If I have to wait till July of 2014 then I missed 1/2 the driving season.
Oh and yellow with black wheels.

You can change your order up until it gets queued for production. Since that's apparently months off, you have plenty of time to finalize your decision.
My preference is to go classy. You'll get the performance and the niceties.

"In honor of jpee"
Take a day or two and go to Bloomington Gold in IL (I think it moved; not sure where to). They are supposedly going to have seven C7s there (find the thread on C7 that sez so). Maybe one will help you decide. It's coming up very soon; may even be a very long-ish day drive for you.
Just did your homework for you: Champaign IL, June 28-30.
And no, looking at your posts, I wouldn't buy without seeing because you'll kick yourself if you make a mistake buying sight-unseen.

You seem to be equally "conflicted" betw. prices and class. Strange, but not unusual.

My conflict on price is stats and all that are great but I've never felt the C6 was worth the money they charged new, especially when you get into the 70+ range. Performance numbers are great, rubberized Tupperware interior is not.
I just have to see the all around value of the price which to me means a world class interior, maybe not Audi quality but pretty close to it.
Otherwise I might as well pick up a used C6 and do a new interior in it, some of the replacement interiors are fantastic.

I was also thinking Cyber Gray & Kalahri. Went to Bowling Green last weekend hoping to see examples with little luck. Did see a Cyber Gray C6, but in the bright sunlight it had to much of a lavender cast for our taste. My salesman called when we were there wanting a decision by end of day. We went Lime Rock Green (saw the hood in the Museum) & 3LT Kalahari. If I were ordering a black interior I would get 2LT for the heated/cooled seats & heads up, but with Kalahari 3LT is worth theextra money. I'm of the opinion the C7 ordered right, Z51, 7 speed, and the right color combination can be both sporty and classy. It's too late for me to change my mind (quewed for production) I'm still going to Bloomington Gold Sunday in hopes of seeing a green. U of I Assembly Hall on U of I Campus-Champaign IL.

Burning Brakes
History shows that yellow Corvettes are typically less desired in the used market and tend to sell for several thousand dollars less then other colors. Just something else to consider.

Safety Car
But yellow does cost about a thousand bucks more than cyber gray

I'm in the same situation, CG or NRB with Kalahari, with silver OR something brighter like Red or LB with black wheel. Decisions... I'm headed to the 60 Bash in hopes of seeing some examples in person.

Yellow I think it depends on the car. C5's were great in yellow. C6's in the rear/sides were great in yellow, looked boring from the front with the rolled over front lip.
I think the C7 looks worst in red, at least in photo's. Yellow is a great color on it with the black wheels and yellow calipers.
We're going to go to Bloomington next Friday and check out what they have there. See if that will help me make a decision.
White or Yellow I'd go with 2LT and black interior.
Not a fan of the red. Any other color I'd do the Khalahari but it has to be with the 3LT interior otherwise the interior does not look complete IMO.
I did see pics of a vert with CG/Khalahari that looked to be a 2LT and was not bad but until I see it in person going to wait and see.
