Default Not much luck in So. Ca.

I've tried several So. Calif. dealers. Rydell, a fairly large Corvette dealer wants $2500 down, selling at MSRP, but they have a long waiting list. Allen Gwynn Chevrolet just called me and offered me one at $5000 over MSRP. I declined. Keyes Chevrolet said they didn't have pricing yet, so they're not taking orders. Called three Orange county dealers, one in Ventura county and one in Santa Clarita area, all to no avail. If anyone knows some dealer (s) this way, please let me know. I think I should have hung onto my C6 a bit longer.

There are some dreamers on this board who believe by spring or summer of 2014 they will be getting 2500 off MSRP, not only are they mistaken, but they will be waiting if they order their car to get it at MSRP or maybe if they are lucky 1k off like some are doing now, gonna be a harsh reality for some while we are enjoying our new Stingrays... As to your concern call MacMulkin Chevy in NH he can arrange a courtsey delivery w a local dealer for 300 or so, he is getting 250 stingrays in the first 6 to 9 months and he is a straight shooter and is not marking them up At this point no matter what you do it's going to be a while

Ah yes, Kalifornia. The bend-me-over state. I haven't bought a car in state for years. Just make arrangements with one of the excellent Forum dealers and have the car courtesy-delivered, or better yet, pick up your new car there and treat yourself to a great road trip across our beautiful country.

Forget it. Just go to Mike Furman at Criswell. I did. Problem solved. No mark up, plenty allocation, delivered where you want. $1000 down and refundable. I'm picking mine up at factory.

Mike's a great guy and gets back to you really soon by phone or email.

I bought from Rick Conti. Having the car delivered to my house. He is paying half of the delivery cost for me. Also his list is not crazy long. If you called now you would get your car by Thanksgiving I bet.

How do you pick up a new Corvette at the factory?

Simply check the R8C option and then get ready for the experience of a lifetime! My new Stingray will be my 5th and I enjoy it every time. Then I get to drive the 2133 miles home having the time of my life.

It's actually R8C - here's the info: http://www.corvettemuseum.org/ncm_delivery/index.shtml
I've done the Museum Delivery 4 times, and had a great adventure each time.

I know about National Corvette Museum delivery (RPO R8C). That's not what he said. He said he was picking up at the factory (not at the museum). There's obviously a distinct difference between the two places.

Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa (San Diego) has, I think they said, 60 allocations but I know there were about 35-40 on the list. I'm on at MSRP.

I can second that recommendation.
I'm assuming you reside in So. Cal,
Fly up drive it back down on 5 or
take the PCH and make a thing of it.
Good way to break in your new vette.

Did you try Silver Star Chevrolet in Thousand Oaks? I know they sell at MSRP. I don't know about their allocation.

If you're saying that he meant to say that he's picking up at the museum, so be it. I'm not sure how someone would mix up the factory and the museum, though.

I live in so cal and I had the same problem with the local dealers, so I ordered from Tim at Boardwalk and he said he would pick up the wife and I at the airport and then we are going to drive down the coast. I think this should be a way better experience then driving 5 miles to my local dealer who told me they wanted 10,000 over sticker several months ago.

I thought Cormier was the largest Corvette dealer in LA from how they advertise but they aren't even close I understand.

Seems like three East Coast / mid West dealers eat up about 50% of the allocation.
