Default I wish everyday could be this good, I love my vette!

Mid 80's and top off...I love everything about my vette, just owning this great affordable American sports car is beyond words. I don't care that at 8500 miles I am shopping for tires, or that the navigation is sub par or that the GS/ wide body gets less mpg than the standard coupe. I just love to take off the targa top, keep the performance exhaust on, radio cranked up and roll along however I damn well please!!

This forum and the helpful posts are great and I don't even mind those that think there opinion is best and the only one that important......at the end of the day I OWN ONE VERY AWESOME CAR!!

Well said Scott! We are living the American dream. Btw your carbon flash color is beyond stunning in person. I used to think I liked black....until I saw your Vette.

Thanks Mike, yours is an awesome color as well....ok ok I could be color blind and love this car!! I love how the lighting changes its appearance...it's like I'm always walking to a new car.....I think I might need to add black chrome wheels....they also transform with the light.

Now how can I sneak that by the wife?

also the reaction I get from everyone....so many see it so differently and think it has to be aftermarket paint job.

It's refreshing to hear a happy owner. Between my three I've got 100K miles and no major problems.
You're right, today was a great top off day. If you're looking for a day trip tomorrow go to Williamsburg, take the Jamestown/Scotland ferry, stop at Edwards Ham outlet in Surry for great pork products and have a great sub at the New York Deli.

I agree, just owned our Vette 2 weeks and I am in LOVE with it.

Stays in the garage but I did get home early and decided to take it to the grocery store for a quick trip.

Have to admit it is VERY SWEET to see the heads turn and read lips when you go by but the real treat was when I came out of the store and saw a sweet teen age girl standing beside my Vette, which was in the far end of the parking lot of course, while her Dad was taking her picture. They were some what red faced when I walked up but I put them at ease and let her sit in the drivers seat while I was putting my bags in the rear. She was grinning from ear to ear, Her Dad was too

Nice...last night, right after washing it our neighbors 17 yr old daughter came over and I gave her a ride around the block (we live out a bit so more like country roads), she was asking how hard it was to drive a stick so I pulled over and switched seats with her and gave her the first lesson in driving a M6 she was beaming ear to ear! She told my my wife it was a once in a lifetime dream come true!

Great story!
I've had mine for over 5 years and I still find "reasons" just to drive the car to the grocery store...pick up a sandwich...anything just to go out for a spin. I also wonder if anybody does what I used to do and just peek in the garage late at night just to look at the car. (With a big grin on my face.) I have owned more expensive cars and a few other "sports" cars but i've never taken care of the others or felt the pride of ownership like I do with the Vette.

I hear ya...and your story is almost exact to mine today. Here in SC it was also in the mid 80's and sunny. I popped the top off and took a 101 mile ride on the back roads past cotton fields, tobacco fields and about 50 churches. I even found this old general store with a rusty Sinclair sign and the old 1920's gas pumps that were also rusty. Truly a great ride and view all while listening to 60's on 6 and the NPP exhaust! This is what these cars are all about...DRIVE THEM!
