Default Some C6 Owners Can't Drive!

So I leave the ATL airport today and hit I-85 North.
I set the cruise for 64 as always to allow the faster traffic to get my ticket.
I see a "Vert" come up behind me in the left lane, yep two old blue hairs from FL in the left lane.
They motor past and no wave.
Then I start picking them apart. This was a GS.
They decided a white CB Antenna with a dirty sponge on it to keep the antenna for hitting the car was a good choice with their red car.
It was almost 90* in downtown today so of course the top was down and the windows were up.
I am now in the far right lane because it moves faster and they are still in the far left when we get past midtown and where I-85 and I-75 split, they want to go on I-75...
Instead of moving over one lane and jumping in the HOV which is shorter to I-75 they frantically move right four lanes to get into the I-75 left lane at the last minute.
I usually drive in the second or third from the left lane, those two lanes flow better.
The Floridiots seem to think the left lane through ATL is their lane to clog up.
So as I slowly pull away, they are just holding up more and more traffic in the left.
Remember they are two up in a Vette driving in the left lane just right of an empty HOV lane.

No wonder other drivers think we are pompous azzes in our corvettes.

In the words of bicyclists," Share the road!"
Slower traffic move right.
The left lane is for passing.

Sorry for the rant...

I would post the personalized tag but I have said enough.

Traffic in Atlanta is stupid. I'd say it was more likely they were more of lost than unable to drive. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's stupid for HOV lanes to have their own exits, we don't do that back home in FL.

If they were going slow in the left lane, they must be from north/central Florida. In South Florida the left lane is like the friggin' Autobahn.

I hope one of the cool things about being a "blue hair" is they feel they can put whatever antenna you want on your own car, and you don't give a **** what other drivers think of your driving. I can't wait...

Sometimes a little understanding and compassion is not a bad thing. Give them the benefit that were from out of the area, likely trying their best to follow directions, perhaps even a GPS was instructing a left lane status. They may not be familiar with HOV lanes - there are lot of places without them.

Knocking them for being blue hairs, choosing top down windows up and criticizing their antenna is plain ole mean spirited.

If you're lucky, some day you may be a retired, blue haired, Florida beach resident . . . . with your right turn signal on constantly while driving in the left lane

Well said...we all need to remember, if we're lucky, we will also be those blue hairs in the left lane someday.

Heck, I'm only 49 and dont know were the hell I'm going sometimes...

Drove from ATL Airport to Murphy, NC huh?

Bad parts - Highways I85/75 and 400.

Good parts - Hwy 60 past Dahlonega and the Hwy 129 twisties around Blood Mountain and Vogel State Park.

I left FL seven years ago and I am not going back...
If you're lost in a city, maybe you should not be in the left lane... Wake UP!
By 70, you should have some concept of how to drive and driving etiquette.
Making excuses will not change stupidity. There are others on the roads, move over and let them pass.

ATL is my closest airport... At 55.5 per mile, I will gladly make that 266 mile round trip often in a Corvette.
I love my job!
I-75 - I-575 turns to 515 - 60 - 64 - Home.
My C6 gets 30MPG.

There is SOOOOO much irony in this after your rant. Some of "us" obviously are pompous azzes.

I'm not near their age. But I hate to drive in a large city. Best just to stand your
ground, let them run up on you. Just keep an eye out for your exit, road, and ignore
the ******** locals or ones that think they are locals. Who does road signs and
placements now have there head up there ***, as to logical thinking. Just because
people have poor timing does not mean I have to be in a hurry just for you. Hint
don't follow too close, I have good insurance, and nothing better to do than
deal with a claim.

Surely you're not suggesting this is a unique C6 trait, are you? We have no traffic comparable to ATL but, there are plenty ding bat drivers in our little town that do much worse in their Toyotas. I find Vette drivers to be some of the best on the road. JMO

I would just call them "Clueless" and carry on with my day, every driver out there has come across some drivers that do not deserve a license, ()

There are ZERO good drivers here. I'm just glad I work in the northern suburbs, and live 30+ miles north of that.
I HATE driving in Mpls.

Can't imagine anyone would think you were a pompous azz, in or out of your Corvette.

I'm about 50 miles north of Atlanta. I see it everywhere here everyday.
Not unique to Vette drivers or age. I avoid Atlanta unless I need to make an airport run. Used to not be this way here.
