Default FS: SEMA Show Z06 2LZ built into Corvette Racing 650hp #3 C6R ALMS GT1 Tribute Car

Corvette Racing 650hp #3 C6R ALMS GT1 Tribute Car - SEMA Show Build from 2LZ Z06

Here it is. This SEMA Show project car was the idea of a Corvette Racing enthusiast that sprouted into a 3 month project which garnished national acclaim, magazine covers, and even made its way to greet the Corvette Racing team drivers. Make no mistake, this is no backyard build. This was project was built in a professional family run auto facility in business since 1946. There is far too much to say about the quality, attention to detail, and craftsmanship that was needed to put this together.

Included with this car are official Team Corvette crew gear, a Corvette Magazine featuring this car on the cover autographed by car #3 drivers Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell, and Jan Magnussen, and an official Corvette Racing firesuit!! See below for full list!!

Over $117,000 invested in the car when it was built.

Full build sheet available.

HISTORY:
The project idea was to build a streetable tribute to the last GT1 Corvette C6.R that dominated the 2008 ALMS GT class piloted by arguably the best Corvette Racing drivers in history Johnny O'Connell, Ron Fellows, and Jan Magnussen.

THE BUILD:
Project idea was to build a car that was scarily similar to the C6.R, yet retain the interior and drivability of a street car. Before the project was even started, it was meticulously worked out on paper to see if it was even possible to get close to the race car. If every little detail couldn't be duplicated, if the car wouldn't look eerily like the actual car, the project was going to be scrapped. This is a no-nonsense tribute to the 2008 #3 Corvette C6.R. The build took approx 3 months and was completed literally the same night it was packed up in the trailer for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV.

CORVETTE RACING TEAM GIVES OFFICIAL BLESSING TO DUPLICATE CAR:
Corvette Racing team manager Doug Fehan was contacted and gave the official blessing to use authentic graphics from the Corvette Racing team. These graphics were acquired from the team and are on the car. Each and every logo on this car is guaranteed authentic with documentation from the Corvette Team as well as the manufacturer of the graphics. They are meticulously placed in the exact positions, per strict rules there are no more and no less stickers on the car than what we were given, and lastly all are in mint condition. We applied them professionally meaning all of the graphics have absolutely no bubbles, and are all perfectly spaced to spec. I also have a couple replacements should you ever need any.

Far too many things to list. The car started as a loaded C6 Z06 (2LZ) with full power, navigation, etc. Highlights of the build include extensively modified exterior with custom C6.R rocker panels molded into the body, carbon fiber “waterfall style” heat extractor hood, carbon fiber front air diffuser, extended rear air diffuser, replica air jack nozzles in the front fenders, and an authentic GT class spec 72" carbon fiber wing.

Suspension lowered 1 inch. 650 hp Vortech V3si supercharged and tuned engine with carbon fiber accent covers. Functional front and rear tow hooks mounted into the frame. Interior received a roll cage, suede accents, suede wrapped steering wheel, and embroidered Corvette Racing "Jake" logos on the headrests and floormats. Very loud and clean custom exhaust, emissions legal (however no mufflers). Full build sheet and dyno sheet available.

Car was the cover/feature article in April 2009 issue of Corvette Magazine and was also featured at

American LeMans Series events in Long Beach, CA. In 2008 at the Long Beach ALMS event, it was actually mistaken for the real GT1 C6.R by track officials and it was escorted onto the track and into the staging/paddock area before we actually told them we were just a tribute car looking for directions to the display area!!

ADDITIONAL ITEMS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR:
(Also included with the car are authentic Corvette Racing team apparel available only to team members)

-Two different Authentic Corvette Racing team pit crew shirts (2007 & 2008)

-An Authentic Corvette Racing team crew hat

It is just the shell (no Nomex) and was made for display on a mannequin with the car.

-A copy of Corvette Magazine (April 2009) featuring this car, that was SIGNED BY ALL THREE DRIVERS of the #4 2008 Corvette C6.R (Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell, Jan Magnussen) with documented proof and photos of their signatures.

All smog equip and sensors are still on and functioning. It does not have mufflers so if you had a stickler you might have to grab a used set to smog it, then take them back off again. Otherwise, its modestly tuned and should be good to go.
