Default 455=427

The final numbers not enough to outweigh the huge discounts on c6's. I will be waiting a few years for next motor in the Stingray. Headed to Columbus in the morning to pick up a Midnight race blue 427 from Rick Conti. Insane pricing, landed mine for nearly $14000.00 below sticker. 505 hp will keep me quite happy for a few years.

Btw, he has more....

Congrats on your new car...although I wonder if this is the correct place to post this. Perhaps the C6 forums would be better...I'm pretty sure that all the people that are now uninterested in the base C7 because of the "lackluster" HP figures have moved on to their respective forums by now. For those of us unswayed by this news we'll continue to root for the "woefully underpowered" C7 and likely enjoy it all the same. 455HP is just a hop, skip, and a set of longtube headers paired with a decent intake away from 500HP, so I don't see it as a detractor from the car but as a solid base to build upon!

As awesome as I think the C7 will turn out to be, I certainly cannot fault anyone for grabbing a new C6 right now either, especially at a severe discount.
C6s are still amazing cars, ESPECIALLY the 427s and Z06s.

I am sure you are going to love the new 427 C6....it's awesome...best of luck with it.

As far as the c7? I don't believe the 455 hp number for the LT1 is correct...I think it's Internet chatter at this point. No offense to corvettec7 dot com

Most big Corvette sellers have more 427's at great prices. Of you are looking for for gonzo horsepower they also have good deals on ZR1's. if that is your motivation.

All of us who have ordered C7's know those deals are around. We bought the new car for more then a horsepower number. I can equate this to a young man growing up and finding there is more to woman then cup sizes. It is the whole person or the whole car which make both of them desirable.

I equate these super early c-7 purchases as a need simply to be the first and the most popular at the next car meet. And there aint nothing wrong with that.

I just want a nicer car.

I sold my C5 for a C7. I loved both of my C5s, but it was time for an upgrade.

Passion for the corvette seems to drive many early sales. The technical achievement's are exciting. Realizing the New small block engine has 10 million hours of computer computational time alone is enticing to see what the final performance of this engine will be....combustion chamber efficiency alone took up 60 percent of that time..

The total package evolution of corvette in the c7 is the major driving force for early adopters...

Plus the passion for owning something so beautiful drives many early orders...

The c6 is a great vehicle..especially the 427.....too best of luck to the OP...

14 grand off msrp is tough to beat on such an iconic ending for the 6th generation as well.

You guys are stereotyping again. Maybe Bill's talking about her intellectual capacity or cooking skills.
