Ideas for a Console gauge cluster
I want to add some gauges to my car, I don't want to put on a A-pillar cluster. I was thinking of moving my HVAC unit down to the ashtray area. then making a plate to fill that area and stick three gauges where my HVAC unit would be.
Anyone have any other ideas. I have a Boost/vac gauge and then Fuel Press. any other ideas for gauges besides a wide band.
Thanks

I would leave the AC controls alone and put the gauges in the ash tray location. You might regret having to reach down further to adjust them, might be more troublesome. It's easy to look at gauges.

If you are not attached to your head unit, something like this:
Or get a touch panel head unit with OBD2 connection that runs Linux and display a gauge application on screen.

why would I have guessed to google "Parrot Asteroid Smart"
Never heard of such a term. I was googling Android based head unit, android based double din stuff like that.

Google is so smart nowadays that you can literally just ask a question, and it'll find a relevant article or a forum, through which you can start looking for more specific search terms. I found the Parrot HU through the related videos side bar of that British Android head unit YouTube video. I had never heard of Parrot making head units before.
Now you got something to start with on your own research.

I would recommend changing to a single DIN head unit to make room (unless you use the air vent like above) instead of using the ash tray slot. There's not that much space down there because of the center tunnel, and it's very low and partially obstructed by the shift stick.
If you use digital gauges the space is not an issue though, and it's easily reversible if you don't like it.

Check with Dennis at DD Mods. He can set you up. He is building my complete interior remake and the center console will have 3 guages across the top then a double DIN radio and the HVAC where the ash try is. The picture below is not mine and the 3rd guage is cut off in the picture but you get the idea.

And no big deal on your Hijack(you did not hijack by the way) your offering another idea.
Does everyone who has additional gauges just put them on the a-pillar?
