Default When will the first C7 be Delivered?

If they build in August 2013, doesn't that mean they will deliver the first cars before the end of September?

Apparently, they need 900 cars built before they send any to dealers, so I guess another way to ask this Q is, when will they have 900 cars built, so they can start delivering new C7s to dealers?

Depends on a lot of factors. They could start shipping to dealers as early as mid September but im guessing more like early October. It depends on inspections of early ordered cars and if GM QC is happy with them or not. They will be in NO RUSH to ship flawed cars. GM can't afford the bad press right now.

They do not need to deliver, I would just drive over to BG and pick her up.

True. That big back lot holds about 1400 cars. Once it's full they'll have to release them for shipping so they can continue production. Depending on how production ramps up that could even happen before the end of August .

I seriously doubt that he knows anything for certain; most dealers don't.

LOL! Your dealer may have been talking about THEIR test-drive/showroom car.

My dealer told me they were getting on to show to people (but would not be sold) sometime in July-ish. It's the car people can get inside and play with the gadgets, but it's not a car that will end up getting sold (unless they mark it way down later next year).

I ordered a C6 in June of 2004 and it was delivered in mid-September but there were some deliveries in August. If the same holds true for the C7 the first ones should be delivered in August.

Ha. I totally agree. Other than the Forum Delears on this site (which all seem to be very knowedgable)...I have been pretty disapointed in most of the local dealers here in Philadelphia. You would think they would be jazzed about the car and know more about it. I have taken the information I have gathered from these forums and know a ton more about this car than anyone else I have talked to at the dealers. If I was a salesman, I would be all over this!!! Not because of the commision, but because of my sincere interest in learning about this great car!

My bet is October for delivery (wish it was sooner).

I asked because I think there is a wealth of knowledge on this board. That said, I'm always suspicious of anything I read on the internet. At least everyone here sounds like they think they know, but they also are not positive. I can deal with that. Thanks.

I suspect that the first C7's will start showing up at the dealers in mid/late August.

As I understand it, cars will be produced beginning the first week of July, probably in initial quantities of about 30 cars per day growing to 140 cars per day by the end of July. Averaging it out I believe with this time frame, they can produce 1400 cars in July and 3300 cars in August. So, it is up to QC to see when they can be released. If everything goes right I wouldn't be surprised to see C7's in dealerships by mid August.
