Default Opinions Please!

I am looking into buying some new outside 'A' pillars from RPI, as mine are stained from bird sh*t or whatever. I was wondering, as I am going with the full painted ones, should I order body color (DSOM) or the gloss black to maintain the stock appearance?

Any pictures of y'alls vettes with body colored 'A' pillars would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

The body colored ones look out of place in my opinion.

Gloss black! Also tie in perfectly with window tint and glass top if you have it.

if you're not going with something like carbon fiber, why not just take off yours, sand them then paint them. If they come out bad, then spend the money..... A can of spray paint is under $10, no big deal.....

I had the carbon fiber ones on my c5 stock on my C6, but I agree with the last two post. If you plan to remove them and install new ones, I would get some black paint either semi to match the original or gloss and also if you go gloss apply a few coats of clear and then buff them.

Not trying to stop you from buying from RPI Design, as Josh does top quality work and either way body color or gloss black they will be quality pieces.

Should run you about $100 to remove your pillars and have a body shop do them perfectly.

My windows aren't tinted. I'm not a fan of the tinted look. I do , however, have the glass top. So, I guess you're right. It would tie into the whole scheme.

Can't afford to have the car out of commission if I fudge them up. It's a DD so it needs to be drivable at all times.

As stated above the car is a DD. I'm not to sure how long it would take a body shop to do this, but I drive the car everyday to work, so that's kinda out of the question. Great suggestion though, I hadn't thought of that.

I'm not sure how long it takes to remove them, but to paint 3-4 coats. then clear coat 3-4 coats (if you want clear coat) could be done in one day over the weekend if you really wanted to do it. I did 4 coats lens tint then 4 coats clear coat on all 4 of my side markers in one weekend, the second day was just to install them back on.... just saying, if you want to do it for under $10 it can be done. if it comes bad, just put them back on until new ones come in.... PS all you need is 15-20 minutes between black coats. If you use clear coat wait 2 hours after last black coat, then 15-20 minutes between clear coats.... Should take 2 hours if just paint, 5-6 hours if clear coat is used.....
