Prom Night 2013
Last night was our youngest daughter's senior Prom. This is the first year for our Vette but NOT the first time I let my kids drive my sports cars. My sons took the Plymouth Prowler I had until this year to their Proms and Homecomings as well as used it for nights out with their friends. My daughter did as well. A lot of good memories for them and me and my wife.
I know a lot of folks on car forums say they'll never let their kids, wives, husbands, friends drive their special vehicle, but to me it's sharing the joy that makes owning a car like this even more fun. And when years from now they tell the stories of their Prom, Homecoming, dates spent in the vette or Prowler, it will take on a whole new dimension for the memory. I never had a single issue or problem with them in the cars and never regretted letting them drive them. Even their friends occasionally got to drive them, again with never a problem.

I believe in letting my son-in-laws and my daughter drive my vette....it is gratifying seeing the big smiles on their faces....in fact, on of my son-in-laws bought a 2012 GS vert for his own....I'm sure my grandson will be driving it in later years......

there is no doubt in my mind that as soon as they were out of sight, the boy was pestering your young lady to give it up.....the key fob that is, so he could drive!!!

Good Dad! I agree with letting people drive the car. Almost every one of my friends and family have driven mine.
Sure is more memorable than renting a limousine.

Absolutely, wouldn't make any difference to me at all. I've had too many friends give me keys to far more expensive cars then my Vert...I wouldn't feel right not letting them drive it if they would like. Most everyone is very timid in it anyway.
