Dropped off at 7:00. They gave me lift to office. Back at 10:30 to pick up when done at work (I have an excellent schedule). Just a lube, oil and filter at 21,000 miles in prep for 4000 mile road trip in 2 weeks. They inspected all else. $61.05 Being a Chevy (or other domestic) has its advantages

If they used full synthetic and a quality filter it is a great price. The invoice does not indicate.

That is a decent price for a dealer oil change, but if you did it yourself it would be half that price.

Mobil 1 (let's not argue about whether it is "full synthetic" or not, OK) and OEM filter. Good enough for me---- and I'm the guy who paid the bill. Dealers around here send out all sorts of special deal coupons (here was 20% off) just to lure you into their den.

No problem with guys and gals who do and I did for many years but I quit bothering getting my hands dirty on oil changes when we could no longer pour the used oil out along the fence in the alley to keep weeds from growing

Very good price. Even with a fair price I could never let someone else do mine on any of my autos. I trust myself and know it's done right. I save a few $ also. When I was 16 I worked at a gas station. Mostly pumping gas, washing windows, checking oil, coolant and tires. When I wasn't doing that I lubed the numerous Zerk fittings and changed the oil. I always remember the owner telling me to put in the cheap oil when the car owner ask for and paid for the better grade. I'm sure that never happens today.

That's about $20 less than my dealer charges. I used to attempt doing some maintenance myself until I realized that that I am way less qualified and way more likely to screw something up than someone who has been trained to do the job. Caring more does not mean that I can actually do it better.

That's about what the local Chevy dealer charges me. Checks the tires and all the fluids. Adds windshield washer fluid whenever it needs it.

If you're like me, the cost difference makes it just not worth messing with and the fun went out of the endeavor a few years back.

Local dealer charges me $66 for 6 qts Mobil1 and the GM filter, but after five changes I get a free one so that makes it more like $55. The Corvette tech does the changes, so I'm a happy camper.

I have an 11 Zo6 and love it. Also own a BMW. I cannot believe what it costs to keep it on the road. My friend has an 08 s550 and the serp belt broke. I would figure 75 buck for a belt and an hour labor? 575 dollars to replace just a serp belt!!!! Yes this was a MB dealer! They also did a check of the vehicle (that he just had serviced elsewhere) and gave him a checklist of what they should do!! 3200 dollars in maintenance !!! LOL I wanted to buy this car from him....the BMW beats me up enough buy I love it. My Z is the cheapest car i have to own w/ the best fuel mileage!!!!!!
